I do know what Jim is talking about, and you can decrease the length of the castor arm with the adjusters, since you will need an alignment anyway.

As far as brake pads, I just replace my Axxis front pads with Ferodo pads from IAP, I have to admit so far (2 weeks) I like the new pads, but I can tell they send off a little more dust than the Axxis pads.

You know, the quality on those things varies widely from car to car. They are absolutely terrible on my Saab 900 - horrible feel, terrible fade. Also bad on my XR4Ti running 2-piston Mustang GT calipers but were quite good on the same car running the stock calipers. Really weird. Guess the Milano is one of the cars they're good on.
I know it's an Alfa forum, but I always thought the XR4Ti was a cool ride, with lots of potential horsepower!

I'd be interested in some more feedback on those Ferodos. That's what I run in both Saabs and have been extremely happy with them. They do dust, but the performance is outstanding and they are virtually silent. I don't really mind the mess - I'm pretty good at keeping up on cosmetic maintenance. I'll be more good once the Milano gets back from being repainted this summer.

It is a very cool ride I think... the styling is every bit as polarizing as the Milano, but a very good looking car with good cosmetic qualities. The engine is a bog-standard Pinto/Ranger/Mustang/etc. motor with a turbo bolted on, but responds remarkably well to bolt-ons and lots of boost - 300hp is no challenge, and much more horsepower is very attainable.

Mine's got Mustang front brakes, rear disk brake conversion, full 3" exhaust, front coilovers, Koni adjustables at all corners, gutted/ported intake manifolds, ported exhaust, a huge Mustang V8 radiator, a solid diff mount, ARP studs at the wheels, and corny 17" wheels. Next up is a conversion to a T5 manual transmission and an LSD from an E36 BMW. With just shy of 300,000 miles it's a great, reliable runner. One of my favorite cars for sure. I bought the Milano expressly so I could do the transmission/diff swap on the XR4Ti this summer - hence the no power mods to the Milano policy.

I just bought the castor poly bushes from alfabill (SuperPro) and a friend who is coming from the states is going to bring them here as well as a Milano Verde front sawy bar .

I perform some of the owrk on my car, but never have done this stuff and I saw this writing on Greg Gordonīs page Super Verde and was hoping to perform the job on my 82 alfetta-gtv.

I have some doubt know, so any tips here would be appreciated. I was going to replace the bushes and then take the car to align, is there any special spec on the camber that should I use, or should I stick to original.

Regarding the bar, I donīt know if it would be installed know with my stock link bushes or wait until I have some dollars to buy the end-limk poly bushes.

Right know I think I should spend that money on the Wattsīand De dion poly bushes

On the topic of brakes, I run Ferodo DS2500s - They're a great pad when you want them to be, especially on a car that runs as both a street and track car. Combined with braided lines and high temp brake fluid, I can do multiple sessions on the track and have no noticeable brake fade whatsoever. The only downside, they're quite dusty and squeal at low speed (ie. crawling at traffic lights) when cold.

Probably wouldn't recommend them if the car is just being purely street though.

ROCK ON

I second the vote on the DS2500s... a lil dusty but I've never encountered squeal, but it is a 105. Might be the traditional 116 chassis squeal?

I was always under the impression to expect it, for any car. When they're warm it's not a problem, only cold and low speed.

I used to run the older Axxis Metal Masters and they would need to be warmed up before use, longs stints on the Interstate and you could feel the increase in performance as you rode the brakes on the exit ramp. I live on top of a good hill, so I just use the down hill to the stop sign to warm them up, after that, everything is fine.

I also used to lust after the XR4Ti, still think they are an awesome car, I am sure you will be enjoying the Milano while it takes the place, I replaced my GTV6 with an Accord while I rebuilt the car, no real fond memories of that car....

I am enjoying the Milano quite a bit - it is a very pleasant car to drive in the city and out in the country, and a car that does both well is a good deal indeed. If it wasn't for the fact I am enjoying it, I'd continue to ride on my demolished castor rod bushing. I figure a few bucks here and there aren't really mods, right?

The Milano actually replaces an '82 GTV6 I had briefly a few years ago, and compliments a '95 164Q in the garage. I collect oddball European cars, so it seems.
