What does it all mean?
Alright, excuse me for being a bit clueless but im a GTV6 kid, not a Milano kid(yet ). What is the diffrence between the Gold, platinum, Verde, evosomething or other, and whatever else there is? A general list of what the diffrences are between the models would make my evening. I am mostly interested in engine and transaxle, might steal them from the Milano and give to the GTV6. (Assuming I can find someone willing to part with their 3.0 )

Verde is 3.0 with 3:56 gearing and some have Limited Slip Differential and Mark II ABS and 15" wheels. It also has wheel well flares and rear deck spoiler and ground effects.
Evo is a Euro trim kit I believe.
Argento, Ore and Platino (Silver, Gold; Platinum) all have 2.5L engines with 4:11 gearing. Platino has LSD with 4:11. Silver and Gold have 14" wheels, Platinum has 15". wheels and maybe ABS too.
Each has different interior and trim level

Evo is an Evolution of the Turbo
Turbo: 1.8 Turbo engine, 7.5:1, Garrett T3, 3.909 rear end with a Limited Slip. Flared fenders without the wide sills, different front compared to TS, more holes in the Turbo one.
Evo: Wee bit smaller engine (0.5mm less bore) so be able to fit into the Group A rules, 7.2:1 comp. Different body kit with huge air dam up front and very wide sill covers and vfery different looking front flares. All were red and had a sticker saying "EVOLUZIONE" on the bottom parts of the doors.

And ... no Evo was ever sold in the US
But, there are many of us here on this BB who are trying hard to obtain parts to build an EVO-looking 75 (or Milano, here in the US).

So if I wanted the best of the Milano world I would need the Platinum's LSD and 4:11 gearing, the Verde's 3.0L, and are ABS worth the effort in your opinions?

Yep, the 3.0L with a plat rear end makes for a quick little car. If your car doesn't have ABS then I wouldn't bother trying to put it in. Lots of people with ABS cars swap to manual brakes because the ABS system is troublesome. Although some people swear by the ABS (Nizam ).
If you want to go even faster then a 24 valve 3.0L engine from a 164 LS or Q is the way to go, though more modifications are needed to make it fit.

The ABS is not worth the effort, in fact most of us have gone the other way and removed ABS in favor of the older setup.
Most people agree the Platinum's gear box is the best since it has limited slip, the 4.1 diff, and a taller first gear. It also used the later type shift linkage. However it's not a plug and play deal. The body needs some sledge hammer attention for the linkage to fit and the speedometer hook up can be a bit of a nightmare. Furthermore, the newer linkage makes clutch removal a pain in the but. The linkage itself requires more maintance too. Of course without your 3.5:1 first gear you will loose stop light grand prix and burnout ability too so if that's important don't get rid of your 81 gearbox.
The 3.0 engine has a lot more power and a lot more potential power with conventional mods but with forced induction either engine can reach the limits of what the transaxle can handle.

I would agree that it's not worth the effort to retrofit ABS onto a Silver or Gold Milano, but it's definitely worth the effort to maintain ABS on a car that has it. I am rather enjoying the ABS on my new Verde, which works perfectly. I have both the parts to convert to a non-ABS set up and spare parts for the ABS. When/if it needs attention I'll probably try to fix it rather than just ripping it out.
