What's this thing worth anyway?

I'm new to this forum. I'm new to Alfa. Just curious whether I got a good deal on my new '88 Milano Verde or not. No clue what these cars are worth. This one's got some minor cosmetic faults, and a problem clutch. Seems to run great though. Some TLC and she should be a pretty cool ride. Any thoughts? Here's some pics. . .

Seems to depend alot on where in the world you are...
Also tough to see on only pics.

Well, KBB would probably rate it at about $1,000 based simply on "average" condition. But another AlfaBB member here bought a nice, pristine Verde for a hair over $7,600.

It's worth as much as you think it's worth

The first thing you should do is verify that it's a real Verde. Obviously, it's got an aftermarket body kit on it, with Verde flares, skirts, and mirrors - but it is also missing the Verde rear spoiler. I've seen many 2.5 cars with Verde spoilers added, but I've never seen a Verde with it removed.

It's got the 3.0. What would be other tell tale signs of non-Verde(ness)? Could anyone here tell by the VIN? I only had to come up with $1000 for the car and I live in Maine. Not too bad I guess. I've never seen another one up here, and I've been here since '80.

On a Verde the sixth and seventh digits of the VIN would be "24" - as is ZARDA124XXXXXXXXX.

The orange "four leaf clover" switch? Got that. Real cozy Recaros? Got those. Now what about that gauge cluster?

Guessing here but there are three different looks of the instrument dials, white digits with square, pointy lines, white (green?) digits with round lines and orange digits with round lines.
Also the ARC panel are matched accordingly.

Chrismac - what RPM does your engine turn at 70 mph in 5th gear?

Why do I ask? Verdes had a taller rear-end (3.54) versus other models (4.10).

Which reminds me. Nizam do you have an extra Platinum rear laying around?

You are also assuming his tach _and_ speedo work Hahahaha!

Hey then there's the ARC computer that blinks and flashes spastically. Oh wait... that's all of them:>

Not sure of RPM's. No clutch, means no moving. Pedal goes to floor and stays unless pulled up. I will actually have possession of the car by the end of the week. Can't wait really.
