Bushing replacement
Hey
Who knows how to get a new bushing onto the upper link that attatches to the rear sway bar? Not the one that attatches to the dedion tube...
Does that piece come apart or something?? I can't even take the metal rod out. The buschings have been snipped away and I'm left with a metal rod stuck in the sway bar and I can't seem to fit the new bushings on. They look way too small.
thanks,
grant

G'Day Grant,
I'm having a little trouble visualising things from your description.
I assume you're talking about the bush in the ends of the rear anti sway bar and that the 'pin' you're referring to is the one labelled (1) in the attached drawing.
Since you have the replacement bushes, you should be able to see if you have removed all the old bush, that is the rubber and I assume ( I haven't replaced mine yet) the metal sleeve.
Hope this helps,

Craig thanks so much..
So, do you want to know what the problem was?
I took the bolt and nut off allowing the fork to be taken out of the way. That's good. Then i was left with the sleeve and bushings stuck inside the eye hole of the anti-roll bar. Not good.
To me it looked like the sleeve and the washers on the end of it were one piece.

^ sleeve with washers...making it look like one piece.
And it stayed that way. Even after i HAMMERED it out of the anti-rollbar. Bent the washers too.
After a call to IAP technical service, the helpful voice told me that the sleeve and washers must have been welded together. I glanced at it and almost hung up on him. He was totally right. So after letting WD40 sit on it for 10 minutes they came apart with alittle hammering. Straightened the washers with a vice and I'm now about to put everything back on.
Thanks again craig,
-grant
