Thanks guys. I have a daily driver already, so a break here and there is alright.
About the trannies- the spray bar sounds cool. I shall look in to it. If I ever make enough power to keep breaking them, I will have a swap ready.
Don, the Alfa bug is an expensive one, but I guess I will have to deal with it.

What do you do to your poor car? Mine's 22 years old and I've never broken any switches!

The worst part Bernard, is that my switches are orange because I have the 3.0, so finding the right replacements is a little bit harder than the much more common 2.5 liter cars.

Well, I am discussing purchasing NOKU75's Milano. I may have to scoop it up.

I guess I am lucky my switches are all good too. but I have had to replace the drive motor in both the front doors.
the gearbox seems to stripout over time. The fuzzy stuff seems to come off the seal at the top of the door where it rubs on the glass and the rubber under the fuzzy stuff grips the window making it hard for the motor.
now the blinker stock is busted. the return spring poped out the super thin plastic that keeps the spring in.
and I do get the ARC disco.

NOKU,
I sent you another Email. Get back to me with more pics, and your zip code ASAP bro. I am trying to get the cash, and pick it up ASAP.
Let me know, I want the car.
Thanks

Have you seen what he puts his poor car through? (I'm sure there are videos on YouTube somewhere ...)

Abuse? What abuse? I just use my Alfa on a daily basis to get around town. O wait, that is abuse!
Bernard, the video is lame. If I had friends, someone could record me at the track, which would be more interesting. There is this one guy in math class, I think we might be friends...
Old school, there's a Red Milano silver that Lenard is selling for $650. I don't know how much the other car is going for, but just want to let you know you have options. If I were you though, I would buy the best example possible, and save up for performance parts later. You'll probably save significant cash that way.

Grant,
Why are you worried about the color of the interior switches. The colors on the fender, bumper and other parts of the car are all different anyway.

Just wait till I paint it Zamani....
My priorities go like this:
Suspension (getting close!)
Body work
interior
brakes,
POWER!
By the time I get to stage 5, I think OPEC will have run out of stuff to sell
See you at ButtonWillow.

Grant - you can change the white-lettered switches to amber, as long as you have your original amber ones. I did that to my wife's car since her window switches were starting to malfunction at 262,xxx miles (it's a 1987, so 21 years of service. Not bad any way you slice it).

Very clever! I agree with you, just never thought about doing that. I'm assuming this will work for the turn signal and windshield wiper stalks?

Sorry Noku75, it is not going to work out. I am going to have to hold off on your Milano. I appreciate your time man. I am going to have to look harder. I cannot make the trip to Texas, its just out of my cards right now.

the tranny can hold up fairly well to bigger power but they dont last long, i know of several milanos in the uk that run 450bhp and use the box but they have modified gear kits and oil coolers etc.
with mine i have had to replace the gearkit and also 5th on several occasions. the latest thing to brake is the spindle that connects to the fly wheel and pokes out the front of the box so you can bolt the prop shaft yoke on to it. this sheared in 2. once you have a reliable prop then you need alot of work to run big power. a brace on the front of the box to support the back of the prob plus i have had to mount the box solidly as the rubbers just rip off. but i have 524 ft/lbs of torque at the mo and it doesnt like it much.
i have been told i should run a front box but they really screws the weight balance especially on a v6. if your serious then you can work around these things.with the nos my car has 618 ft/lbs of torque and its holding up so far but it has cost me a few k in developemnet and thats in uk sterling. Plus i dont use it that often to in terms of actual mileage i get between breaks i have no idea!
