Milano/GTV/ Alfetta rear brake adjustment

The rear brakes on the above cars is a challenge. I've recorded the following adjustment information: all adjusters EXCEPT drivers 7MM HEX [rear facing, extreme inboard] counter clockwise expands the pistons. Driver's hex: clockwise expands piston. New breed of hollow center ratchets [Lowes] allows for unwinding outer end LOCKNUTS while allen key holds ADJUSTER still. Once nut is loose, adjust in usual fashion to 4-5 thousands, lockup adjuster using newfangled ratchet and allen wrench. 7 mm adjusters do not need a locknut, BTW. why didn't they think of this sooner? These are great tools to have. Best sixty bucks I ever spent.

Yes that's the set. The ratchet head is more compact so it'll get into more places than before. No more deep sockets, except for impact types. Eliminates need for expensive special purpose tools with concentric fittings.

Alert. alert. Canadian Tire has their through hole "Speed Ratchet Kit" socket set (part number 59-9194-8) on sale this week (starting tomorrow June 21) for reg $79.99 for $29.99 (60% off). I am going to get one to make rear caliper adjusment much easier. It has 10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19mm and the same sockets fit 3/8, 7/16, 15/32, 1/2, 9/16, 19/32, 5/8, 11/16, 23/32, 3/4. They are 12 point sockets. I am not a fan of 12 point sockets but for that price I will give it a try and simply be careful not to round off the lock nut.
