Wanted: Milano Drivers for Aprils' AROSC race.
A few of the Milano guys in the San Jose area have been talking of a Great Milano gathering at Button Willow on April 18th and 19th, 2008
In the past, there was once a Great Milano Gathering held at Laguna Seca. The link to the page escapes me, but in total there was something like 9 Milanos at Laguna Seca on the same day. Forum members drove from places such as Washington (JungleJustice), San Diego (Chip), and other places just for this one event. Many years later, we're trying to have another one at Button Willow in Southern California.
The idea then, is to get as many Milanos out on to the race track at one time, and for everyone to enjoy themselves. The important thing to remember is, stock and unmodified cars would make great candidates for this event! What better place to learn the limits of your Alfa and to drive it the way it is meant to be driven! Unlike many other tracks, Button Willow has very few walls and lots of run off space, should the need arise - just ask 75evo It's also relatively long and flowing, so the brakes on the Milano shouldn't be much of an issue. The 5 point harness and fire extinguisher could be removed after the Great Milano Gathering, or left in once the racing bug sets in!!!!
This is a Time Trial and Race group event, meaning a minimum of a 5 point harness and a fire extinguisher need to be in the car to run at the track.
More info about the competition related stuff can be found here:

AROSC Race Program
http://www.arosc.org/downloads/arosc_comp_code_04.pdf
And the excitement you could be missing out on!
Laguna Seca with AROSC 5/03
To make things more interesting, one track junkie has decided to create a "Kinder Cup", if you will, to try and entice more of the younger audience into the racing world. There have been rumors of (possibly) an Apple Ipod being given away to the winner of the Kinder Cup. The age limit isn't set in stone, but AR4me, Nizam, 75evo, JJ, and other members probably won't make the cut So Sam, Ian, and others, come out and race with us!
And if it bugs you, I can remove this regional event from the Milano forum.

Here's the link to the Buttonwillow event in 2006:
AROSC @ Buttonwillow, May 2006
Lots of pics there! Shouldn't be too tough to top that event in terms of Milano/75 attendance ... right? Buttonwillow is only three hours away when I'm towing from the Bay Area.

I'm actually not. I think Buttonwillow will be less intimidating then the Willow Big Track.
Looks like 2006 event was a riot! I hope 2008 has a turn out like that. Sam, do you know any more younger Milano drivers to put in the Kinder Cup?

I have not. Most of my track time has been at drift events, driving schools, or HPDE's, I'm new to the competition aspect.
Man, this track day is gonna be cooler than that Rally. Get your dad to come out too. There is like a Milano only thing once every 2-3 years it seems like.

Buttonwillow in April should be great, weather wise. It's also a very nice track.

It is likely I'll be heading to the Buttonwillow event in my Verde. Contemplating the Willow events as well. Have not been able to make it to an alfa club event in probably almost two years now so the itch to get out there again is HUGE! Not sure what ages you guys are I'm 22. I know super-racer (he's 24) will probably be driving his Verde to the track but won't be tracking it. Why would he want to though when he will have his GTA and Giulia Super racecars there?? Now to just get the darn car ready for the event!
