Simply adding more fuel doesn't mean more power. A richer air/fuel ratio burns cooler and slower, resulting in lower combustion pressure and less torque. Most computer controlled cars run rich at high loads, and bennefit from leaning out of the air/fuel ratios.
If you can find an after market chip that can actually acheive a power increase on a standard engine, then it will more than likely have a combination of leaner mixtures and some extra ignition advance.

You could always buy one of those F3 TS engines that are floating around, that would give you loads of power.
Not really daily driver material but anything except "cams and a chip" is out of the question for a daily driver IMO.

Actually you should check out Murray's spider in the Spider section. It has 10.5:1 pistons, dual VVT (custom), not sure what cams. But the power output is pretty impressive. Be warned it won't be cheap at all. It is however a daily driver.

You do have an advantage as your engine has a better head design. What you could probably do is get a real good ecu. Actually you don't really need an aftermarket ECU. In many cases, the Bosch Motronic ecu is more than adequate. However the problem comes with future modification and finding someone who can tune it. With a good custom ecu AND with good software, you can go to a dyno shop and tune it yourself. I have to emphasize that software is important.

I've seen some people get a cheaper ecu but the software is not very intuitive and ecu response is slow to changes in the map. Spend the money on good hardware and have less headache and labor time getting it tuned.

Get a good place which, like Guy Croft, to work on the head. Don't just send it to a place which can make the ports look nice and shiny.

Then maybe improve the intake setup by eliminating the 180 degree bend. It doesn't have to be a 4-throttle setup, it just doesn't need unnecessary bends.
