Clean separated stock wires will do the deed. There is no need to spend a multiple of the cost of stock wires. But, it makes others think you have something special!
Often you get less, and feedback problems that are costly!.

I'm curious exactly what you're saying here... are you dumping on Kingsborne or Magnecor wires? Also, is there some specific reason as to why you think either or both are inferior to the factory wires?
My experience with Magnecor has been nothing short of stellar, and their lifetime warranty is impossible to beat. I've gotten 10 years worth of service from them on a 300hp Saab turbo, including one free replacement - that alone was worth paying double the cost of factory wires (which are very high quality in themselves). They've also been excellent performers on my XR4Ti, which tends to bake them around the exhaust manifold/turbo - no such problems with the Magnecors.
I've never used the Kingsborne wires in a performance application, but the Beru stock that they're made from is pretty high quality stuff, and well made. They've proven quite durable, and good at noise suppression (which is a concern for the boost controller in a Saab). I don't think they're up to the standards that Magnecors are, but in comparing a $115 set of Kingsborne wires to a $120 set of factory (from IAP) wires, I'm really can't see how they're a bad choice. I'm sure they could be had cheaper buying the wire and terminals in bulk and building yourself, but who wants that hassle?
I really don't know squat about Alfas, especially as far as performance is concerned - I've only got experience with other cars/applications to draw from...
