I went back and looked at it and i decided the car looks like it was abused too bad to really be worth it. Im going to wait until I find a platinum one to grab instead.

I dont have anyone to help me do it, and my milano is the only car i have and a tranny seems kinda heavy to put in the trunk... After this weekend it will be $75 anyway. If someone else wants it go for it, if not i may still go try to get it later, I dont know.

wow, why won't junkyards let you use a jack? how do you get engines out? that's dumb--all the ones i go to let you bring in anything (except a camera--figure that one out!)
and as for putting it in your trunk, i put a transaxle for my 944 turbo (which is seriously heavy) in the rear of my scirocco and the scirocco is even lowered an inch or so. i was worried but it was ok as long as i avoided big bumps. as for getting it out, you'd better have an engine hoist--i wouldn't want to try and lift it out by hand even with 4 people. but with a hoist it was simple.
i can't believe your not aloud to use jacks? what a dumb idea! do they not want to sell parts? or do they want a law suit for personal injury whilst on THEIR property
Every scrapper local to me, if you need access to the cars underbelly, they crane said vehicle onto a purpose made stand for you
Only downside is, 75's (come to think of it, Alfas in general) rarely come up in a breakers
yea the places here are like that it makes the job take about 3x time.
and a lot more danger...
this it what I have done. you rent ther motor puller hoist. collect some stuff rims or what ever will hold things. use the hoist to lift the whole car off there stand. put the stuff under the trany. lower the car. unbolt the box. lift the car off the box. the same thing if you have to remove a motor. you will have to go up and down may times some times bolting some part back on to change the hights of the stuff under.
it was so much better when they let you use you floor jack. and I looked real hard they do collect all the jacks.
