Fuel filter

I have a manual for my new toy, but it fails to mention if you have to relieve the fuel pressure to change the filter. What is the proper method for changing the fuel filter? I'm used to removing the fuse and running the car out of fuel, but am worried about burning up the pump. Thanks in advance.... Todd

I thought Huskys were made in Sweeden.......

Just remove the fuse and crank it. It'll run for about 5 senconds and shut down. Viola...no pressure. No damage to pump.

I've never relieved the pressure when changing either the fuel filter or fuel pump on Milanos, but I suppose it won't hurt anything and will cut down on the mess. I've always done alright using a couple of golf tees and working quickly.

Thanks for the reply's. I will do the fuse method, while also rebuilding the driveline , and replacing the exhaust this weekend.

Crow Bar, Cagiva bought Husky sometime in the 90's. Thier bike's are getting better and competitive again. Check out my off sub jump pic in my Verde post.

P.S...the only reason I ask is I have a Husky Chain Saw and it says "made in Sweeden" on the plate. It is the single best 2-cycle engine I have ever seen. They literally did everything right.....a masterpiece.

You know if I thought about for a second, how could I burn up the pump with it not running.

All chore's are complete. My guibo at the flywheel was missing 2 segments. Ansa has a nice sound to it, not to loud like the Fetta, so the Wife should approve when she gets back. I did buy the car after she went on vacation.
By the way Cro Bar, Water Bong, toooo funny.

More chore's completed. Located refrigerant leaks at the service schrader valves of the A/C compressor, replaced the schrader's evacuated and recharged with R414B ( Hot Shot ) refrigerant. Changed coolant, with water wetter added, Changed the transaxle oil to motorcraft oil, changed the engine oil (even though it was so clean it was hard to see on the dip stick) to Kendall. This weekend Kumho 712's 205/50/15, trace down leak of the window washer bottle so ARC will leave me alone. Probably more to come.......
