fuel line question

Does the return line from the fuel rail need to be high pressure line? It wasnt when I got the car, but I was curios if it was supposed to be or if normal fuel line is ok (this is for an 87 milano gold btw).

This may differ on your model but on my 88 Verde the lenght of rubber hose coming off the fuel rail to the hard plastic line is only several inches long. For that, it might be well worth the couple extra bucks for true FI line (in the event of pressure regulator failure). I also use quality FI hose clamps on the return .

The one near the front of the plenum is a "normal" line. Use good quality hose.

The line is about 3 feet long on mine ( I think it uses about 6 feet of rubber hose total, I had to replace all of it becasue when I bought the car all the rubber lines were in very bad shape). I used FI clamps on all of it, 2 on each of the high pressure connections. If it only would be a problem if the regulator fails, I guess I will just change it next time I work on the car then. I figured with how long that line is it might not be a bad idea anyway. lol
