Can't get to AC fan

Hi,
I've read many previous posts regarding the fan and fan switch. They provided great information but they seem to all implying removing the duct that has the flap that opens when switch to interior air. I've removed 4 or 5 screws on the bottom side and one screw from the top but i still can't get the thing to come off. Can anyone provide me some help?
Since my fan won't turn, i stuck my hand throught the trap and removed a few handfulls of leaves and other crap. The fan still doesn't spin freely and i can hear it moving around a lot of leaves inside. I'd like to clean the whole thing out and inspect the resistors for the fan switch.
thanks,
Bob

I have the same issue! Any responses as to how best get to the fan (or the leaves out!) would be great.

It comes out from the driver's side. The motor and fan are mounted in the left side cover of the blower housing It is held on by 3 or 4 small screws. Lie on your back and stick your head into the footwell. You should be able to see it.

Thanks ...

I've noticed the power supply wires going in from that side ...

There is no need to remove the center console or trim in that case. Thanks.
