Rebuilding AC Pump?

Hey guys

While fixing a leaky thermostat today I decided to also swap the AC Pump belt with a longer one (when the Bosch catalog says 13A850 they LIED). Installed a 13A875 (too long ). I'd like to shoot the Alfa designer that routed the lower radiator hose through the AC belt making you drain the coolant to replace it. Dork.

Anyway the AC system has been empty since I got the car back on the road. When I now try to turn the pump I can only do so with a ratchet. The Nippon Denso pumps I'm used to turn easy by hand, so does the Seiko-Seiki I have in the garage (Fiat Tempra). There is no oil in the pump so I'll put some in and try.

The pump is a Sanden SD-508 similar to the one in this link, but 5 pistons not 7.

Does anyone know if you can rebuild these?
