A spec seires with dissapearing cars isnt nesessarily going to be popular. Look at the nasa spec rx7 series for an example.

...and the RX 7 is not a disappearing car...?

The Milano, Alfetta and GTV6 chassis are no more disappearing that RX 7s and E30 Beemers...

Besides, this is the AlfaBB.com and not the MazdaBB.com - no offense - just saying; if I wanted and existing, established, Japanese spec series I'd just go for Spec Miata...

JJ,
I think that perhaps Travis_k provided the rx7 series as an example of a series based on a disappering car that has caused it to become unpopular. Basically, supporting the speculation that a spec 75 series could have similar issues. Though, I'm not familiar with the rx7 series and am just guessing.
Jes

My Mistake Travis - I re-read it. Still - while the E30s were produced in much greater numbers, it only took a hand-full of guys to get it started - and look how popular it has become!

Massively popular or not, it would still be the coolest thing to have ever been wrought upon the earth. Imagine the smack-talkin' threads on the BB after each event!! ;-)

...might be worth it just for that!

Yes, I did mean that the lack of good donor cars has not done much for the populatiry of the series. Parts for them arent all that cheap (especially brake rotors and stuff like that), and there arent many left. You can search on craigslist or walk into the junkyard and see tons of e30s, (20-30 in the junkyard here at any time normally), and maybe one or two rx7s. Milanos are way way more unusual than that, so thats why i mentioned that.
