The numbers are from Ron. They are little over three years old. It states to use toe in as described to reduce the tire wear from the extreme camber and to increase high speed stability. I believe these are street recommendations.

Confusing. I've heard from another source that you want toe-out with high amounts of camber to reduce tire wear..

Toe out (excessive) would wear out the inside of the tire just like large negative camber. Isn't this similar to the 164 recommendations from Centerline to run toe in between 4-6mm?
My old lowered 164 ran about 2.5 degrees and they tend to run alot of negative camber. Of course it had great grip with that much camber!

How'd you like your lowered 164? Was it an S, L? How low was it?
I saw an L that was converted to S specs one time, and it was slammed...looked bitchin'.
Also, I don't see why a lot of toe-in wouldn't wear the tires equally fast, especially with tons of camber. What am I missing?

My old 164 was an S with Squadra chip, Supersprint muffler, Eibach sway bars, Sparco springs, Koni rear shocks, poly bushes, etc. I had a set of 156 16 X 6.5 wheels with various P Zeros. I had removed the airbag and put in a nice Momo. I still have the adapter.
Pretty good handling but serious wheelspin in low speed tight corners. The brakes are marginal on the 164 in my opinion. Loved the fast steering rack in the 164 S. The car in general was miles away better built than the Milano and a better turn key driver.
Oh, it had the factory Recaros too.

You're not reading it correctly. I meant as in dinner with Ron.
Prolly will go to Cali too in the not to distant future, a friend is there for a year and is telling me I need to visit. Should I go or will there be a stoning if I show my face?

Obviously it was a lot more taily under power, but also on turn in or in any trailing throttle situation. The difference grip characteristics of the road tyres changed the balance of the car dramatically. Thinking about it, it was probably due to a combination of factors including tyre compound, construction and the level of spring and roll stiffness not suiting each other with the street tyres. Similarly, the car gets more taily as the race tyres wear out, but not to the same extent.

... i agree for high speed stability(ring is very high speed track)
but toe in for compansating lot of camber? very strange ... heavy camber cause toe in even if toe is set to zero ... so heavy i camber+ lot of toe will bust tires very fast !

Why does heavy negative camber cause tow in? Is this why I've read someone mentioning camber thrust, and using tow out to counteract this?'
Mats,
San Diego is a beautiful place. The area near Jes is even prettier!

But a bit uniform. Though, very nice along the coast. Mats, I'm 1h north of San Diego. Let me know if you visit SD and perhaps we can work something out. Zamani, Nizam, Grant, etc. are all in the Bay area. Though, if you do visit CA I'm sure you will plan to visit San Francisco.
