NLA parts
Alfisti,
I would like to attempt to manufacture some parts for these cars. Nothing overly complicated or precise. Items that are needed but are NLA or stuff that has never been produced and maybe should be. I am not talking about engine parts or fancy electronics. For instance, I recently lost my gas cap for the verde. I had access to a spare, but I know that these types of items are getting more and more difficult to locate. Another item I am playing with is an adjustable upper control arm for the alfetta/gtv6/milano cars.
So let me know if there is something that you guys need or want, even if it something that is already made but could be better or cheaper. I only have access to my spider and milano so I am just going to concentrate on those models. If there is enough demand and it is something I can pull off, then I will prototype it, produce it, and sell it.
Thanks for your ideas.

Tim I've been out of town all week or would have responded. I guess I'm at a disadvantage as I don't know exactly what is NLA until I go looking for it. For example, are the rear flex joints available? I have seen conflicting data. What about the thermostat and housing?

I think you can still get the exterior door gaskets from Centerline, I got some last year. My items would be;
Rear engine mount
flex joints for drive shaft
interior bits like window switches
The rear red strip on Verdes and Plats
axle boots that fit well
misc engine gaskets
coolant hoses and metal tees
AC idler bearings

How about the weather stripping on the outside of the side glass ( with the small plastic strip at the top) is that avail? Sam W as for the AC pulley, I took mine to a machine shop and they machined the pulley and put in a much larger and available bearing . The machinist thought the bearing should now last the life of the car.

nla parts arnt that much of a problem for milanos, in my opinion.
most parts seem to be around and while the arnt available new they do float around as new old stock or good condition seconds. just have to be willing to wait a little more than your other everyday cars... but how many of them provide the same satifaction as an alfa?

work in progress
Alfisti,
my list of things people want and need for their cars has grown to over thirty items. I have been doing more and more research about how to handle each one and have come to a few conclusions.
1- Unfortunately, anything that could be disasterous or life threatening, I am going to stay away from. If everything works out and there is enough profit to afford liability insurance, then I will reconsider those items. In that category I am including driveline, engine, and transmission, and braking. I am just fearful of a guibo exploding and doing damage, or brakes failing, or engines overheating, gaskets failing, etc. I am sure you guys understand. I do not want someones baby (car or person) to be damaged because of my ignorance or mistake.
2- While I had initially thought metal would be the easiest medium to work in, I am now leaning towards plastics. So I am going to concentrate on plastic parts until things get going. I have also discovered that I can do transparent parts like tail lights and such. Those can be complicated and will come later.
3- In order to get this off the ground I am going to start slow and see what happens. The first part I am going to attempt is going to be a milano gas cap. I have one in great shape, I know there is a small market for them, and it is simple in process, but a slightly complex part. So I am spending this week formulating and documenting a complete plan of action to make this happen in real life, not just talk on the BB. Starting next Monday I will put the plan into action, and will post the results when completed. Wish me luck.

Rear flex joints are available. I have non in stock but they are easy to throw some on any of my shipments.
Just an FYI.
