Heavy? Try lifting a milano bumper...
Openings in front? According to Alfa, the Evoluzione had a lower drag coefficient than a regular 75. Have you got a better kit to suggest?

I bought a Veloce kit used from one of the guys on the transaxle forum a while back. I think Nizam had the same one. Anyway, I had to make some of the brackets and glass 'em in. A lot of monkeying around to make it fit. It weighs about 1/10th what the stock stuff weighed. It looks sinister, to where people drive into ditches when I go by. I have fitted kits for the ricers, and it's no walk in the park. So, WHAT NIZAM SAID!

bumper
there is no comparison to the stock america bumper, that was around 20kg a piece, but the evo weigths as much as a stock european TS bumper, around 8kgs, the original piece lets a lot of air underneath of the car and that hurts the drag a lot, on the evo that improved much, but still the holes on the bottom are not necessary. i first modified the evo, but then i decided to make my own mold for a improved racing version. the mean reason was to make the sides even wider, especially low down to hide the tires set with 3-4 degree negativ camber. was a little bit of work to do the prototype, but now i have a workable bumper without any holes where i can do openings as i like. beside that the weigth dropped to 5kgs, and when damaged i can change in less then half a minute...as a side efect, times dropped from 1.40 to 1.38 per lap, on the straights around 5 km/h more end speed

Ok Rosso,
It looks to me like you have a very nice race setup there. Even I can see that your bumper would definitely lower drag significantly when compared to an Evo. Nice work. Great that you did it yourself too.

I need that bumper for Willow Springs! I already have euro bumpers and it improved handling but I think I can gain more speed on with better aero.

sadly im in europe, so selling to US would be a bit complicated, but as i told, the evo can be modified and when you dont run as big wheels as i ( zender 8x16 with ET 17 and 4cm wider track front and back ) the sides are ok. my version is somehow ugly too, compared to an evo, but i dont mind, form follows function in this application.behind that small hole in the front, there is a porsche 944turbo alloy radiator with fully sealed sides (alu-sheet) so no air comming in misses the radiator, if drag is important, and speaking of a racer with side exhaust, i suggest following "adjustment" of an european back bumper, ugly like the front too, but lets the little air coming in in the front and from the sides nicely out, helps cooling the gearbox and makes the bumper lighter...

Improved rear roll center too! Are you using factory flares on the rear? How did you attach them to the body work?

yes, 3.0, conservative tuned with cams, higher comp, headers, head work, big AFM, no numbers but runs nice...
actually no flares in the back, they had to go, instead of that a hammer had to make place for the wheels, very tight...
add a picture of my first bumper, that was the cheap one, made of two regular bumpers, that was the home depot garden version..but you can see how bad the tires are exposed in the front

Very nice car! How about some pics of the interior (or lack thereof), trunk, and engine compartment?

Are the exposed tires a really bad thing for...say top speed? I think if I can gain 3-4 mph on the front straight at Willow I will get about 0.5 secs. Important for me since I can't even break 1:40! That is my goal, break 1:40 and say good bye to Willow Springs.
