seat cover advice wanted

I'm looking for advice on front seat covers for an '87 Platinum. I want the covers to be thin because the sunroof already eats into the headroom and I don't want to loose more by sitting on thick foam or sheepskin. I'd like the covers to look fitted and aesthetically correct. My primary protective concern is the area of body contact; if a partial cover leaves the sides and seatback exposed that's OK -- the seats themselves are still in good presentable shape.

Any suggestions?

I know here in Oz for a reasonably price you can have normal seatcovers custom made for the seat, that way they sit snuggly and give the appearance of a clean retrim, without paying the excessive cost of the retrim.

From memory for front and rear seats I was originally quoted about $400-$500AUD ($200-$300USD?) and that was basically in any of the normal 'standard fit' style seat covers available.

This was through standard auto stores for the record (likes of Repco, Autobarn, AutoOne etc). So maybe try the US equivilants and see what they can do?

ROCK ON

Do any of the specialty houses have something off the rack?
