Milano U-Haul:)

I've been busy moving for the past week and just have a little wonder to report about the Milano 2.5 automatic which joined our stable almost a year ago:

3 days till the closing date for the sale of our house, my wife and I just were still left with tons of small personal belongings all over our 3000' old residence. We thought we should be ok to fit these things into our 2 Alfas so we let the furniture movers go w/out them.

The unexpected happened when my 164S suddenly needed a steering rack, control arms, ball joints, etc and had to stay in the Alfa shop until Friday. Now usually my 164 is the big handy mover: I always counted on it for airport luggage transportation thanks to its tall trunk -- this is very important as although the 164 trunk is not as sizable as my old buddy the Saab's, its tail is much taller meaning I can stack two large pieces luggage.

With my 164 unavailable when most needed, we were forced to use the Milano for moving -- and it did an AMAZING job!We honestly never ever expected this 3-series-sized compact so capable of such dirty work. It was bought for my wife's commute and my occasional RWD fun, but please look at the pictures taken in my old garage last night: two rear seats must be clear as my wife and my little baby had to sit in. Eventually all doors and trunk fully shut. I had bags squeezed all the way to the gear selector - one of those rare moments I was thankful I had an automatic! otherwise I just had no space to shift

That looks familiar. That was my old Milano last year when I moved. I could not believe how much stuff I could fit in there. With the Alfa ,and my Saab with the seats down, I made quick work of my place.

When i did my 1400 km i managed to back a load of stuff. 19 inch monitor, a windshield (yeah thats right!) a ginormous suitcase, gecko with cage....etc etc. The trunk just perfectly shut and the rear seats were covered perfectly so i still had full visibility. Im still amazed I fit a windshield though :P

Edit: looks a bit salty, poor milano!

Already washed day one in my new house. I covered your Platinum rear seats with blankets when fully-loaded. They're in good shape saved a little Tide powder splatter

Visually impaired right side??

How far did you drive like that? Did you have a baby in there? Where did the seat fit in all that stuff?
