What wheels are you running now? I'm in the market for some new (second hand or new) wheels and if you're selling I might be keen.

Sorry, I'm running 16x7.5 MAK Stings with 35mm offset with center bore modified, but I'm keeping them as a street wheel/tyre combo.

I bought them from Donnellans in Victoria for ~$300ea, nice looking wheels...

Bernard, I can fit 17x8's all around on my car with rolled fenders (with 205/40/17). My offset is ET35. Yes, they rub at full lock (either direction). But this is a track use car, so I don't do much "full lock" turns in it.

Thanks Nizam, that makes me more confident in getting 16x8's

Now to find appropriate tyres.

So I've got it down to the following:-

16X7.5 black MO with 37mm offset with Dunlop 225/45R16 DZ03G.

Has anyone had experience with these tyres? Should I go for a different brand? I also get to choose between medium and hard/medium compound. For a car of 1200kg's, what would be my best choice?

37mm offset sound good? I'm running 35mm right now and the front seem to stick out just a lil too far.

Are these track-only tyres? Will you drive to-and-fro from the track on them?

Track only, I wont drive to and from with them on.

I'm not allowed to use full slicks either.

Bernard - I think you can use R-compound tyres; they are grooved and generally accepted as a "street tyre". But, they do wear quickly due to their stickiness.

Michelin Pilot Sport Cups are a good example. Kumho VictoRacers, their new V710 series, as well as similar offerings by Avon etc. Here's a good starter article:

http://www.europeancarweb.com/tech/0...e_r_compounds/

I've run on Kumhos, and now run on Hoosiers, but I've found that my street-going Toyos are almost as fast as the R-compounds. They're almost half the price too.

I'll be going for the R-Compound, they look like the Yoko semi slicks at the bottom of that page, ie not very street orientated.

Wouldn't like to be caught out in heavy rain with them

They are about $400ea AUD. Should I go for them or keep lookin?

I have Japanese Pannasport Pro Rally wheels, 15x7 on my car. I think that they look like the superlites you were considering, though I am not sure.
