So the key isn't coming out? If I change the ignition I have to change the door locks also?

Well, I was always able to work the key out somehow...I imagine it could get nice and stuck in there though.

As for the door locks...don't think of it as more weight to your key chain...think of it as a great addition to your Alfa keys!
(you end up with 1 key for ignition, 1 for the doors). I seem to remember having 2 different keys for my GT Jr doors, and one for the ignition...LOL

Happened on a verde of mine long time ago. I took the ignition switch lock of the steering wheel column, and was able to take the lock apart. A little thing (maybe the spring had broken - don't quite recall, or is that when you can't turn the key?). I simply removed whatever it was, and was able to put everything back together in working order. Though, as you can imgaine, there was some functionality that no longer worked - a minor thing, don't quite recall. Maybe the steering wheel lock functionality?

If you do replace the ignition lock with a new and don't feel like carrying multiple car keys, yes, you can switch all locks: ignition, doors, gas cap.

I had this happen on my old Milano. The key got stuck but would still start the car. But in a short time the key finally wouldn't budge. In or out of the ignition nor to turn and start the car. A locksmith was able to fix it so that it would work but warned me that getting a new ignition switch was the permanent answer.
