Help. This can't be right.

I pulled up today and I heard a noise coming from under my hood. When I investigated I found this little peice with one end open. I looked for any hoses nearby that might have gotten disconnect and there were none. Any ideas or fixes?

Publio,

Hard to tell exactly where you are from the pic, but i think (think being the operative word, here) that this is the little one-way valve for the (fuel tank) vapor recovery system. Should be an open line on either the recovery (charcoal?) cannister or under frame leading back to the fuel tank...Again, i could be wrong, it's happened before.

i'll get back to you off board (PM) on the parts.

Looks like front end, bottom of the pic is the headlight connector..and the air intake is on the right...there's a fuel line up there? I don't think so....

I don't know what that is, from looking at the pic. I'll check out my car when I get home.

valve and hose

what is black hose to right of valve? Is it hooked to anything? If not it probablt goes to valve and to carbon cannister for fuel fume recovery.

Catsboy,

It is passenger front right behind the headlight. The part has hoses that go to the canister within the bumper. I think it has something to do with the fuel. I haven't noticed it disconnected until I heard the noise.

universible,

It goes to a canister within the bumper

Steve,

THat black hoses next to it is connected to it from underneath. I need to take a better picture. I can't believe I would have missed this up until now.

Ok, I see where it is now...if you look at the very edge of the air filter (orange color, top right)...there is a small hose just sticking out from under there...I believe that's the hose that's come loose.

Ted

from looking at the diagram..I think its #11...vacuum hose
