Slipping clutch

Hello,

Lately I discovered that my my clutch has problems with transmitting power to the wheels. It slips for couple seconds usually after gear change. The more power I apply to it the longer I have to wait until it fully engages.

When I recall similar experiences in other cars I used to have, they were usually the results of the operating cylinder's failure. I suppose it is similar in 75 as I have no problems with gear changing and they would probably occur if the clutch plate was worn. Does it sounds right? Could this be a problem of operating cylinder?

Sounds like you need a new clutch unit. To make sure, drive on some open road cruising in 5th gear, then give it full throttle and if the RPM's jump - bad clutch. Bad hydraulics usually mean you can not engage the different gears easily or the pedal does not function properly.

Thanks for your advice. Indeed is seems that my clutch is gone. I have almost new unit from my 1.8 ie but it unfortunately I found that it has diffent preasure plate than the one used in v6 so I can use only the disc which is the same in all versions (except 1.6) BTW 1.8 ie has pushed type clutch. So far I haven't found time to look at my V6, so do you guys know if v6 has pushed or draw type cluctch?

are you talking about the fork? if so it is a push and the fork rides on a pivot that breaks over and over and it a big pain to change.
