ARC removal
Just a thought, is it possible to bypass the ARC panel? I was thinking about adding 3 gauges to the hole it would leave behind. From my understanding though, you can't just unplug it. Anybody done it without rewiring half the car?

Yes, you CAN just unplug the display, it does nothing else. You cannot just unplug the A.R.C. control unit above the panel above the glovebox without re-wiring the brake lights, tail lights and a few others.

Seems like the ARC panel would be a great location for a GPS display. Anyone done this?

I want to. I believe someone in Australia took it out and put a LCD screen there, so someone has done it.

There is a Milano on http://www.cardomain.com who has removed the ARC and custom made a pod so they could fit in a small screen for a dvd player. I can't remember which one it is though.
On a similar topic, has anyone fiddled with the ARC itself so it indicate a fault for something other than it's specified function? Say for example, using the ARC to indicate a flow problem/clog if there was a water/meth injection system installed? Just an idea I've been playing around with so I don't have masses of LEDs throughout the car.

I took out my controler to see if the caps might be bad like all the BMWs but they all seemd to be good. but lighting leds would be easy and there is a lot of room where the controler is. (above the glovebox)
there is a lot more inputs to the box then there is LEDs I noticed. But I think the flackyness must be the power/ground to the crontroler. but I have not taking the time to run a fresh ground to see if that will fix it. but I think it is a ground problem. I have had ground problems all over. Alfa must have been runing short on black wire when they made mine as the black is streched drum tight in all the wire harnesses.

Why didnt you use a widescreen monitor that took up the whole space instead of just half? something stopping you?

No nothin was stoppin me actually I dont really know why I just got that size. There was a reason when it went in but I can't remember. When it goes in my 3.0 there is gonna be a custom dash to go with it. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh now I rememer why I went with that size. Before I crashed the car that was in I was going to put l.e.d warning indicators in that blank spot, e.x. doors open was gonna put a little clock and was going to relocate switches like the windows. That why there is a blank spot.

I have to ask...you didn't crash it because you were watching Gone in 60 Seconds while driving did you? :-)
