Arrow Miles Per Gallon

Trying to figure out how much I've been spending on gas.. How much is a Milano supposed to get to a gallon? How much does it really get? ... I know the book has "best mpg" shiftpoints..but that wants me in 5th gear at some insanely low speed...

That is interesting. They do however need to change thier "assumed" fuel prices. Here near my house I haven't seen prices that low for a couple of years.

Right now at the second cheapest station (I won't go to ARCO, hey that rymed), regular is $1.69, Plus is $1.79, Premium is $1.89, and diesel is $1.99. I know this may not be high for a lot of you around the world, but it's more then I like. However, I do pay $5.00 a gallon for race gas, go figure.

After I got my Milano, I changed to Mobil 1 engine oil and Redline Synthetic transaxle lube. That seemed to help fuel economy as I was getting 28+ mpg on the highway (up from approx. 25 mpg).

Why would motor and transaxle oil affect gas mileage?

Less pumping loss. That's why some OEMs recommend 0W-30 motor oil 'cause it increases their CAFE number.

That table lists a 2.5 motor and a automatic transmission. Since most 2.5 are manual transaxle, I would expect slightly better in town mileage ( 22-24 ) and highway ( high 20's ).
