Preserving a fuel pump

I have two used fuel pumps and want to keep them for spares. Is there anything I should do to them to preserve them for future use? I'm scared that they'll sit around for a few years and when I go to use one of them that it'll be seized or gummed up.

Not usually what happens. The o-ring seal between the pump internals and the aluminum housing dries out and breaks. My advise would be to fill with diesel or keroscene, cap the ends and store in your garage.
