Looking for decent 16" wheels

Hey all,

I am in a bit of a time pinch and need to find some nice looking (subjective<g>) 16" wheels for my Verde. Mine are 2 out of 4 bent and I need new tires pronto or I cannot drive my car for the holidays. BTW, don't ever get TSW wheels, they suck royally!!

I know what the limited options are for 5x98mm and that goes without saying. My preferences are:

16" (this and the bolt pattern are the only hard requirements)
7.5" (7" is fine)
30ET (35ET works too)
gunmetal, anthracite, or black a plus
nothing lame (like the Ronal bears of the 80's) <LOL!>

Anybody switch to a different set of wheels and have a nice extra set lying around?

TireRack offers three wheels by OZ that come in 16x7 with 35ET and 5x98 pattern. The trick is that they only appear if you tell them your car is a 164....
The Crono is new, but the SuperTurismos and the Ultraleggeras are tested performers. Hope THIS LINK works.

Do you have any designs that you like?? I just put SSR GT2s in 17x7.5 on my GTV6.

Thanks James. I had an offer to get some of the OZ' a while back but didn't like them as much for a couple reasons**. The bottom line is I just pulled the trigger and got off the phone with TeamDynamics here in California. My new Pro Race 1.2 wheels will be here next week. Now I'm off to the blood and sperm bank to try and make some money for tires.<LOL>

**The main one was the guy on the phone said they had nothing in 5x98mm.<grr>

yeah thos OZ wheels are ugly.
Something chunkier in the spoke department is really needed for the 75.

But also horribly stylish and wonderful in their 3 piece design

I think the Oz wheels look good on the right 75, usually requires a Veloce or Evo kit before the look can be achieved though..

The wheels on the original Es 30 would be a option keeping with the late 80's theme of the car. Wheels and tire sizes are better when the match the production date. Momos on 105's for example. Simmons have been on alfa Gtv's , 75's for many years so they fit the period nicely.Love the look of Ronals as well. Jason

I had this exact experience. Which resulted in me getting the SSR GT2s, having them redrilled to 5x98 and getting spacers made by Charlie DiMarco. While dealing with Charlie was smooth and educational, it would have been nice to get the straight up truth from TireRack.

I'll have to disagree with alfettish's thought that the OZs are ugly, I think that the Ultras and the Superturismos look good on Milanos. Either way, solid decision in going with the TDs. Post pics when you get them installed!

What kind of tire are you going to get? All-Season? Touring? Maximum Performance?

And believe it or not, the 80's Mercedes when those wheels came out. I've seen 'em on a couple Benzos and nearly had a stroke laughing!
