I'm also pleased with the result of color-coded body stripes. They integrate well, without losing sculptural distinction. Women know cosmetics better: my wife was right.
Big job like this always leaves little things to tidy up afterwards. Tomorrow my shop will fix the followings for me:
1. Right front door inner handle was left unhooked, so you can't open from inside. Got to remove the panel and install again.
2. Right rear door does not slam close unless click-in gently. It might be the position of the lock.
3. There is a finger-thick gap between the front bumper and headlights/grille. It's not that bad, but you can see it in the couple front views attached. Readjustment might be diificult as all the brackets are where they are.
4. My 3rd stop light always stay on dim with headlights on. When I actually brake, 3rd stop light brightens as normal, but it stays dimly-lit all the time. As result of the Milano - 75 conversion, I already have to live with fast blinking signals, and now the stop light...
Underhood was not painted. This is not a first-class paint job. Despite the kind of WOW effect both in pictures and person, up close I can see traces of overspray and tiny bubbles here and there. Compared to my silver 164S which was the work of its previous owner, I can instantly tell my red 75 is a budget-quality job. Well, it's an unusual car, the body kit is old, for such a complex job with kit prep, installation, electrical mods, paint, etc, I'm still very happy with the overall result.
They did paint the inner trunk, window/door frames, all factory stickers are intact. White underhood is fine with me: I'm nolstagic, having a piece of my original white Milano is memorable.
The white Milano came to me lowered. I don't know how low but it is very bad for street operation. I did buy original rear springs, but the rear still ends up just a bit too high. The front is ok with exactly one-span ground clearance. Maybe the Zender deck wing adds to the effect of a very thick substantial tail? The car handles flawlessly otherwise.
Snow is coming. I will leave the rims for the spring or as is. I'm not a big wheel guy. As long as they are not the phone-dial or wineglass, fake Momo are just tolerable. I am a big leather man though, if there is any foreseeable upgrade it will be either the Recaro seats from a GTV/Spider or VW Golf. I will keep eyes open locally or on ebay.uk again. The 164 needs front suspension work soon. It takes economist planning to continue the enjoyment of two Alfas.
