Yeah, at the end I agree with you, or else I wouldn´t have 2 of those beauties...
The same can be said from the 75-based SZ coupe

Yiminlu,
With a Milano as good looking as yours, do you think it won't stick out in a crowd?! Im sure, It will be a eye catcher...so take it from me..think twice about not putting a plate in front of that car.

BIG Electrical Problem! Seeking Help!!
OK my Milano is otherwise all good to go minus one last-day problem: my fog lights stopped working!
Syndrome: when anyone does a Veloce or Evo kit job to a Milano (American of course), you must re-wire the bumper-inset signal lights into those corner/parking lights (beside the headlights). Basically you will lose those parking lights but use them for signals.
My shop did this: they used the existing signal wiring for the parking lights, changed the sockets because they're different from the Milano in-bumper signal sockets. Then we used the existing side-light (the amber one on the side of the Milano bumper) wiring for the Euro side lights (on the fenders of the 75). Nothing else touched, but the fog lights won't come on any more! Right now when I pushed front and rear foglights switches, the front ones are both off, the left rear foglight is on, right rear off.
I tried to use the original parking lamp wiring (on the Milano but useless now) for the foglights, but the wires are too thin to resist. Plus the right rear fog light is still off. Tomorrow I will try using the side light wiring for fogs and something else.
Any advice? My body shop guys might be incompetent electricians.
The correct setting for a Milano transformed into 75 Veloce should be: the parking lamps are signals now, so they don't come on when headlights are on. They only blink. Other than these, everything else should work including front/rear foglights. Am I right? something missing?
Thanks all!!

Just in case you didn't know or didn't try..
You are aware that the parkers or headlights MUST be on for the foglights to work? And then the front foglights MUST be on before the rear foglights can be turned on.
It doesn't matter whether you have your lights on parker or headlight, but when you do, the front foglight switch should light up. Press it and they'll come on (and headlights change to parkers if applicable), and the rear foglight switch will then light up and they can be used.
See how you go!

Hi thanks for responding, but I know all these routines and did exactly that. Parker, headlight on, fog switch, illumination on, but there is just no lighting

You say "the shop did this...". Then you say "but I know all these routines..." I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you should be able to sort this by yourself! It sucks to pay a shop when you can do this with the help of this forum. I have saved literally thousands of labor dollars with this resource!

I hate people who knock tradesman more often than not, there arm chair experts who cannot hang a picture on the wall straight!!! Pick the lowest quote ,want the best job, last to pay.If you need a auto electrical take it to one not a body shop........ Like a better job do it your self .Jason

Are there any wires mysteriously not connected to anything? Blown fuse for the front foglights and one bad rear bulb? are you getting power at the front? Take out an ohmmeter (correct me if im wrong) and check everything! You'll find it.

I don't think yiminlu is really knocking a tradesman-it isn't often that body shop guys are electrical wizards, but that doesn't detract from ther skills in their area of expertise. What I am saying is we disconnected some plugs from some specific lights and should be able to splice plugs and wires to get the results we want. It is really that simple.

Happy Alfisti Couple:)
My Milano Gold came to me on April 1, 2006 from TX. I still like the rear view picture I took at a highway stopover between Detroit and Western Ontario. Near sunset, mixed feeling, not sure what this car will bring to my family: joy? troubles? ...
"So many things I could have done, but clouds got in my way. I've looked at clouds from both sides now...From up and down, and still somehow, it's life's illusion I recall, I really don't know life at all..."
Nov 17, 2006 - Milano Veloce conversion finally complete. Foglights are fixed, signals blink fast, and still something not quite about the rear lights, but everything is working, just at a different setting. There's got to be some oddities when one changes the Milano lighting to 75's. The body shop is an old acquaintance of mine. They do mechanical works on my cars as well. Neither is ripping the other off. They changed my yellow headlight bulbs to xenon ones which I like a lot. There're of course little details here and there that could have been done better, but overall this is a decent job for a fair price.
Plastic lens on my cheap old foglights are aging-yellow, but they are the good size and old-style for my 75. The front license plate doesn't look as bad as I thought, the plate holder might protect my precious bumper from minor parking impact, so I will leave it there.
Today when I was talking with my body shop buddy near the car, some passing-by driver called us: "Hey are you guys trying to steal this car?" Harmless joke of course, but I already felt the conspicuity of the car.
Thanks all who offered comments and advice here. Best wishes to those with similar projects in mind if you like what you see.

Yiminlu,
Looks great! But the rear has to come down a bit, and new wheels for sure hehe. Also euro lights are a must. Improves night time driving.

beautiful looking conversion. I'm not usually a fan of painting the side character line body color but it does look good on your project. I hope that the underside of the hood and trunk as well as door jambs were also painted. Seeing the underside of the hood in white was not aesthetically pleasing. The rear looks a bit high even for a stock suspension.
A tip to avoid any drilling in front bumper: I use 3M body panel double sided foam tape to hold the front plate on my bumpers. It remains firmly fixed, removeable without any holes left in bumpers (for shows) and is unaffected by soap and water when washing the car.
