Yiminlu,

Those look like "American Racing" wheels.... or something like that. I think a nice set of 16" wheels would make the car look great with the Veloce kit. I might wanna sell my 16" Team Dynamics DTM if you are interested.

Now I've got a bead on how to mount the fr end. Because mine does not have any of those brackets! So I will have to fab some up and then have them glassed in place. Might take a bit to jig it and line everything up. I'll have to think about it and decide if it's worthwhile, thanks for the help, Joe

Fake Momo? I'll verify the next trip to the body shop! They never looked suspicious to me.

btw. the other 6-spoke Momo 16" on my 164 has "made in Italy." I'll look for similar marks...

Absolutely right. This is not my ride I get the 164S, my woman wanted a good-looking automatic Milano, so here she goes.

Actually it was quite a story here on this BB when I inquired about automatic Milano. What I bought in the end was more than a big surprise as there're so few automatic Milano's around let alone automatic with vast performance upgrades. Greg Gordon here vouched for this white Gold as - quote - "probably the best Milano I've ever seen..."

So I went for it, imported it all the way from Texas to Ontario. I'm not sure about the best, but it's certainly one of the cleanest - originally CA and TX car, zero rust, and mint-mint-mint top to bottom and inside out. My wife never regretted that she sold her BMW for our 2nd Alfa.

Since this automatic has got almost every major tweak-up except for a 3.0L swap and stick shift, it suits my woman's cosmetic need perfectly: I can just concentrate on the facelift things. It took me months to get all the pieces from UK:
the 3-pc black rubber rear spoiler,
a Zender trunk-lid spoiler,
Veloce body kit,
newer-style side mirrors (or the so-called Verde mirrors, actually after I got them, I found they're the same as the 164 mirrors which are more widely available),
Euro side markers (as I don't want sacrifice too much lighting for the Veloce kit, our Milano's side markers are in-bumper)
Euro front window visors.

I had a hard time deciding between the Evo and Veloce kits. Finally my economist mind persuaded my artist passion. A new Evo with postage from Italy costs more than twice a used Veloce shipped from UK. Evo front bumper does look the best, but the extra thickness translates to less roadworthiness. Deeper side skirts... yes very nice... but again the Veloce skirts are at least sharper than the small Verde skirts. Other than these everything is identical, so I opted for some savings, considering this is a strictly street-use lady's car.

Sorry for the disappointment. The bottomline is: my woman wants to own the next beautiful thing to a Ferrari with 4 doors, so I'm building one more 75 Veloce here in North America. All the other very few Miano Evo or Veloce here are Verde conversion, mine will be the only automatic+lady-driven This car won't become desirable even with all the upgrades, but my woman is certainly an envy to many Alfisti because chances are one just doesn't get an Alfisti wife

That doesn't sound right to me Are you sure?
Regardless, nice job with the car - keep the pics coming!

Will the 164 mirror fit? If yes, great news for me!

I will drive my 164 to the body shop to see if the Verde mirrors match the angle first. I SWEAR the design is the same, but the 164 window/windshield angle could be different (75 seems more vertical), not sure about the wire connection either.

Are they the verde mirrors are smoother than the 164's, the gold/plat/silver mirrors say 'Alfa Romeo' on them and were grey with a line that ran nearly horizontal out of the car and then at an angle.
on second though...a picture might help explain better

Well for those interested in the 164 - Milano Verde mirrors comparison, I just took some pics of my 75 mirrors at the shop today. They have the AR script imprint. Please judge yourself, aren't they the same mirrors as the ones on my silver 164S you see above?

Other than that, no big progress so far. They made some more brackets for the wings and foglamps. The wing-type wheel arches are firmly in place now... Tomorrow the paint shop is presenting the color for final proof, and paint starts from the interior, ie, doors, windows.

To be continued...

This is the louder-than-hell custom exhaust that I dislike and my wife hates...

The angle and mounts could be different. They look similar, but they might not be the same, hence might not even fit.

If you want to reduce exhaust noise, get rid of the flowmaster rear muffler and put in a straight through magnaflow but with a 2" tail pipe. The size of the tail pipe really makes a big difference if the muffler you use is on the loud side.

Milano Verde style mirrors and 164 mirrors look similar because Alfa tried to update things in later cars to look like the 164. They are totally different. The mounts are different and the internals are different. The 164 mirrors are bigger too. I've take both apart before and you would be lucky to find any similarity other than in the design.

I actually think the original Milano mirrors look better. They match the angular shape of the car.
