I'm pretty sure those aren't stock S14s. Maybe SR20DET or a boosted K24?

Pretty sure the grey one is an S13 actually, and I'd put my money on either a CA18DET or SR20DET..

Yea, Grey S13, Red S14 (AKA 200SX )

Not sure about the S13 being a CA or SR, there were a lot of K type engines in the states (haha, they suck ).

Ugh, why are these cars on this forum?

I have the pleasure of beating down 200's, 180's and Silvias on a regular basis unless they have some decent turbo work done

You know, the K24DE (the twin cam version) is a decent power plant stock. You only have problems with it when trying to slide a high bank like a friend I know. He used to do some amazing stuff with his KA24 but now that he went SR....:

Other than that, I think power is just a handicap..

Nizam, you really don't need to buy new tires to burn up until you're really good. Skinny 195 R14 tires you can buy at the used tire store are FINE. Besides, when people get good enough to slide at high speeds (70+), they've usually got tire sponsors on board Also, do you recognize the track those guys are sliding on? We were there.

That grey car is an S13 with a JDM Silvia front end, the Red car is an S14, most likely with an SR swap based on the amount of tire smoke and the width of the rubbers.

Your S14's are not SR's standard? Strange.

Only for the rest of the world. The last of the S14s the US got still had the K24DE. SR20DE only came with the Primera (Infiniti G20) and ghey looking Sentras . SR20DET? Not in the US. We only get the top of the line engine like the K24DE . Who needs RB25,26DETTs etc. really....

A bit off topic, but I gotta say, Drifters in NorCal are a lot less cool than SoCal guys. I was talking to some guy with a 240z set up for sliding and I was telling him about my S12 beater 200sx and what modifications I have done to it and what not.

What ticked me off was that while I was just trying to have a casual conversation on what modifications work or don't, he was insisting that he was the best drifter around and how he can do this and that...

OK, not a bid deal I suppose, but it feels like EVERYONE in NorCal is competing with each other or to prove themselves...I can hardly have a conversation about the sport without being forced into defending whatever abilities as a drifter I have. Ugg...you SoCal guys have it lucky. I hear the cops aren't nearly as strict about engine swaps down there either.

I have actually enjoyed reading this tread and it getting off topic. Only because if i could afford to buy any other car and do stuff to it it would be a 240sx. SO i was enjoying this actually, due to some of our members here have 240's and know what they are talking about.

He's not abusing the clutch (clutch-kicking) in that vid, so I'd like to say, "as long as any other enthusiast driving his/her Alfa Romeo hard".

I on the other hand, do abuse my clutch/drive train, so I'll be in bad shape pretty soon =(
