How hot should the Twin Spark run?
I reckon our 75 Twin Spark is running hotter than it should be. Despite a new rad and thermostat, it's running above the centre line of the gauge at speed. That corresponds to about 90 degrees C on the scale but the fan comes in and out as it should which makes me wonder if the gauge and/or the sender are faulty.
My S4 Spider runs at a solid 70-80 degrees on the road, going up to 88 or so in traffic before the fans come in. As they're essentially the same engine that makes me think the 75 is running hotter than it should.
Or can other Twin Spark owners tell me if the Twin Spark motors run hotter than the single-plug engines? I'm sure the head gasket's fine and going by past experience I'm happy to blame the electrics...
