i would have it for the looks because the weight would help you that much on a car where everything is still in it.

It's gonna be expensive because of the volume weight factor. Think of Euro 200 to 300 i guess.

1)I want to save on the shipping, so I plan on buying several at once; what is your lead-time on CF and on FG?

2)Is there a volume discount for say 6 hoods total (in CF and in FG...?)

3)Do these come with an OEM hood latch, rather than the pins?
This is very important; this market doesn't like the "riceburner look" of the hood pins, or the "flappy fit." I'm OK with the look of it, (like the cars in the European Touring Car and Rally Car Championships)... It's not bad, but because Alfa is absent from these shores, the Americans try to maintain their Alfas and they like OEM fits... Especially on cars like a Milano, where they are so hard to come by...

4)Can you send me some shots of the finish on the inside so that I can see the finish, hood supports etc...?

I'm with Chip, I don't mind the seam in the hood since I'll be painting the hood. I'm also interested in the trunk/bootlid.

My goal (as is Chip's) is to have the lightweight bodyparts and not so much as to make it 'look' cool. If that's what I wanted, I'd buy a Civic; plenty of aftermarket choices there.

I'll be adding a roll cage to my 75 (which is not light!) so any reduction in weight anywhere else would be welcome. My safety and the chassis' rigidity will be more than compensated by the cage.

That hood is made from a carbon/kevlar mix, not pure carbon. I'm not saying its bad or anything but just so you know, I guess they can make hoods out of only carbon since thats easier.

Just wondering, you pay humomgous amounts to get a hood in exotic material but keep the original hood mounts? Are you just looking for the "cool look" or weight saving?

Call this shop and ask them if they sell or can make a Milano Carbon fiber hood, and how much they will charge to to this. (because if it is easier to make a carbon fiber hood instead of a Carbon/Kevler mix then we could save money.)

I'm up for it if we can achieve a better look that would fit those of us who want to paint as well as those of us who want to retain the "Carbon" look, so send through the number/link again please...

For me it is the carbon fiber look; I love it DONE RIGHT. I'm with you guys though; the "stretched" look where the fiber-sheets moved sucks and so does the line of the seams....

The weight saving is a factor (more so for say Chip and Nizam) but we can all stand to loose a little bit of pounds


I'd like to save on the shipping if I could and I'm sure that someone States-side can do it. Maybe one of the rice-shops have a source?
