Next plans for my Milano

Well, I think it's time for an aftermarket exhaust, and some new wheels..

No idea at all what exhaust to go for, what do you guys have on your Milanos?

Secondly, I want to upgrade my rims and tires.. I had an idea of getting rims like this:

because they're too nice... but will these even fit on my Milano?

Also, what rim/tire combos do you guys think will look nice?

Keep in mind I have a BLACK '89 Milano Verde

Eric

There are not a lot of off the shelf performance exhausts available for the Milano. Are you just looking for a sportier sound or a full exhaust? Also, are headers part of your plan?

Options include:

CSC headers and exhaust - good quality, available through Performatek in the US or EB Spares in England.

Stebro - Stainless steel exhaust, good quality, poor customer service and loooong delivery times.

Ansa - They have a twin tip tail pipe that is readily available and gives a nice sound, but don't tend to last very long lately.

SuperSprint - Awesome quality exhaust, but mostly discontinued. Available if you're willing to look on eBay in Germany and Italy.

Custom - a good local shop could make a very nice system in Stainless using Magnaflow mufflers and I bet it would sound great if they know what they're doing.

Those wheels are from a 156 GTA and are very nicely styled IMHO. I would hate to have to clean them, though

They have the correct 5 x 98 bolt pattern but have a center bore that is slightly too small. You can quite easily open this up and they will work fine.

Tire choice may become and issue. There are only a few sizes in 17" that will work on a Milano without rubbing. For real world driving, I prefer 16" wheels but if the roads are smooth where you live 17" wheels may work fine.

Joe

Question offset

what offset would you need to fit 18" wheels under the guards on a milano.
18+7=offset?
or if you went for 17"
17+7=offset?

The wheel diameter shouldn't matter much at all, assuming you can find a tire that keeps the rolling diameter very close to stock.

With a 7" wide wheel, I've found an offset of around 35mm works well.

I run 17x7 TD Pro Race 1 with 205/40-17 on my street verde and my track car (platinum = no wheel arc flares) without problems. The total wheel diameter is almost identical to stock.

i'm assuming you are talking about the team dynamics wheels?
what is the offset on these wheels?as they make what ever you like on this brand.
how low is the ride?
are they sitting under the gaurds or have you got the 4wd look?

Posted pics here: Milano pics w/ Team Dynamics wheels?
They are probably 35mm - been a while... Judge height for yourself, 4wd, 2wd, fwd, rwd ...

Not to hijack the thread, but Joe, I am about to put headers on my Verde and plan on doing a custom exhaust system, but what should I run as far as mufflers, on my GTV6 I have twin cats and no center muffler and Ansa rear and it sounds great, just a little loud for daily driving. I am hoping to go cat-less, so should I then run three mufflers, front, center, rear? The Verde will be a daily car, so I want a good sound, just not something that is too loud.

B, don't know about Aus, but you might want to contact the main office in UK: http://www.rimstock.co.uk/index.htm - they have been helpful to me in the past.

I was just looking for more of a sportier sounding exhaust, not a full exhaust.
