Just on the note of dry ice - try your local fishing store. You'll find they usually stock dry ice.

Looks good though!

Hey Jes, when you have time, can you stop by my place and help me check the timing on my GTV6. I'm just not certain that timing is correct. I'm sure it is within the ball park but I doubt it is dead on. I need all the power I can get.

Colin, alternately, you could keep your 2.5V6 but swap out the injection system to a programmable ECU. I think they're worth an extra 15-20hp once dyno'ed right. That way, you get to keep your motor but still extract that much more power from it. Anyway, we're diverging away from the thread; this is about Roxanne ... not the Fortis car

Ok, back on topic.

After a weekend and a couple of evenings of chieseling sound insulation it is as good as it will get. I took out eveything except some under the gas tank and at the front firewall - the madness must end at some point

So, the grand total, drums... 25.5 lbs - I hope this serves as a mythbuster, whether busted or not. Anyone now knows exactly what they'll get in return for their sweat. Was it worth it? I would do it again

Find below some pics of inside and trunk after all the chieseling.

and then the trunk... even took off the insulation on the wheel wells and the inside of the rear quarter panels. Glad I'm done

I pretty much have the parts I need and will start battery install in trunk, T-belt, radiator, thermostat, all coolant hoses next. Hmm, guess I do need to remove the battery tray at the front first...

...you just LOVE doing this ****, don't you girlfriend... Stripping perfectly good cars down... What? Are you trying to make me jealous?

Remember - I have both of your "bitches" here with me! The one with the "burned hair" and the other one with "no heart"...!

Ha-ha - looks like you're having fun! Nice distraction only until - you know when - Jes...

Yeah, I get my kicks from this

So, tonight I vacuumed out the little loose bits from chipping the sound insulation to get it nice and clean - still need some nasty chemical to clean off real well.

Then it was on to remove the old battery tray - a bit of a chore to do, but out it came without bending the sheet metal. Just got to find the spot welds and drill them. Though, with a nice and rusty battery tray from previous owners' neglect it can be hard to locate the spot welds...
