A good time to convert to M5 or Previa couplings as suggested elsewhere...

Yes JJ my Alfa guy (Montreal) checked his sources (AR Italy) and rear flex joints NLA.This joins rear motor mounts, thermostats, etc. But I've got to believe that with all the transaxle cars still on the road worldwide and given the regular need to replace this part somebody is likely to start making them again.Doesn't help if you need one now though

A discussion regarding couplings took place at
http://www.alfagtv6.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=998
http://www.alfagtv6.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=320
I think the Previa came into discussion as someone had found a neatly designed flex-coupling for the Previa, thinking that the same design idea could apply to the Milano/GTV6 coupling.

Just to clarify, we at Centerline were not manufacturing this part, just retailing it. Unfortunately, often times we are the ones who have to break bad news such as this to the customer.

As others have said, the probability is that these will be produced again, just not continuously. They were once a readily available OEM replacement item made by the thousands, in the future they will be an expensive reproduction item made in small batches ...

...would have been nice to have heard this first-hand/ahead of time/in time to stock up, rather than "discovering" it in the middle of rebuilding three drive-lines (with two dead cars on the rack and one more waiting outside now...)

Some sort of a service bulletin/low stock warning to dealers/customers would have been nice maybe!

I just replaced mine a month or so ago and managed to find one at DiFatta.

In my experience, advance notice from a manufacturer is very rare. And when it does happen, it rarely gets out to the retailer. Regrettably, dealing with manufacturers in Europe is generally a horrible experience.

On top of that, when a retailer tries to warn someone about the situation, people think it's a sales tactic!

This sort of thing happens from time to time with many of the replacement parts we need to keep our cars on the road. I am sure the donuts will pop up again. I like to keep a supply or spares on hand to reduce the down time. Although my Alfas are not everyday cars, I like to have them ready to go when there is an Alfa day in Denver. If you plan to keep your Alfa for a long time, consider keeping some spares on hand.

JJ,

We only found out these were gone a few days before Meredith faxed over the P.O. for them. We had them on order, but when the shipment came in there were none in the box and and NLA was on the invoice. That's all the notice we got...
