Removing plastic trim all round

As far as I know, all the parts are stuck on with adhesive on a standard 86/87 model 75 (that is, no 3 piece spoiler), so to get these off do I just pry them off? What about the pieces underneath the windows?

I want to remove them all and paint them pitch black. Any tips would be appreciated

Hey,
Get on Aim one of these days. All of the "trim lines" can be pried off EXCEPT the ones on the front fenders. There is a clip near the front of the car on each that has to be undone from inside the engine bay IIRC. The manuals Craig has (and i host ) have good drawings.

Coolio, I'll take a look-see of the manuals.

Btw, you always marked as "Away" on AIM anyway :P

Sounds like an interesting concept Mef

Easy to do, I personally found using a chisel was quite useful. Allowed you to get in under the trim and cut away at the plastic. Then I carefully used a piece of sharpened perspex and some metho to clean away the remaining adhesive.

Be warned though - WEAR GLOVES - combined with the metho it tends to leave nice black marks all over your hands...and it's a pain to get off.

ROCK ON
