Seat Covers for Recaro Verde - Wet Okole?
Has anyone ever fitted a seat cover over their Recaro Verde-original seats? I just don't have the time and patience to do a factory-correct cloth replacement. Heck, I'm not even going to be putting these in an Alfa, so "factory original" is out the window regardless!
I've contacted "Wet Okole" and they claim they have a pattern specifically for this seat, using their neoprene material. Any experiences with these covers or any other? Maybe I could get them to embroider "RECARO" on the seat back cover to make a lame attempt at looking original?

Brad,
My seats are in excellent condition and I wanted to keep them that way, I noticed the wear pattern for these Raecaros is almost always the center material, the solid black edge bolsters seem to hold up just fine. I gave up after trying several different off the shelf covers. None fit well, the Recaros are just too narrow and the bolsters too deep. They all looked bad and felt worse when I sat in them. So, I decided to do an insert to protect just the center section fabric. I looked at the wool ones in the specialty catalogues but they were too expensive, so I went to the local fabric shop and while browsing with all the gals (they were all looking at me like "what's he doing in here?" ) there among the "furs" I found a grey material that was perfect- thick, and soft foam backing to boot. For $37 I bought enough to do some darned good looking (and feeling) wool look-alike inserts that I simply trimmed and tucked over and behind the center section Recaro seat material- took all of 20 minutes per seat to install after I had trimmed the fabric. I can also quickly remove the material for shows, etc. to show off the original fabric. Want to see a picture?

Pics are always a plus - feel free to drop them in this thread so others can see.
In the mean time, I got a response from the Wet Okole folks saying they have a pattern specifically for this seat and have done it before. I agree that the heavy bolstering could present a challenge, even though this is a multi-pattern cover, not a simple fits-all "sock". I'll question further.

Brad, if you didn't have to have 'factory correct' seats, why don't you pick a product available local to your area? I did mine in tan cloth, and while that doesn't sound appetizing, the results speak for themselves:
More here: Custom non-stock Verde interior

Someone here got the Okole covers for an S4 Spider - I remember seeing some pictures. They looked like they fit very well, although I don't think the neoprene looked very good with the Spider interior.
Provided they fit the Recaro seats properly, however, I think they'd look pretty good in a Verde - it's got more of a modern interior, and the neoprene appears to have sort of a similar finish/sheen to it as the Recaro fabric.

Thanks for the pics (both of you). Interesting color selection Nizam - not what I would choose, but very nicely done. I also hadn't even thought about the fact that this seat would allow the use of a 5-point harness - more bonus points.
I noticed that your total cost for the re-upholestry job was $1600, so I'd take a guess at maybe $800 for just the front seats? I think you're talking me out of seat covers, unless I can see that they really do fit well and snug, which I have trouble believing.
Thanks again for the input - keep the cards and letters coming.

I've seen Nizam's car and the combination of dark blue with tan interior looks *really* good, and he did such a nice job somebody that didn't know better would think it was a factory color combo.
