The project speaks for itself. I built it ALL and assembled it ALL by myself (with the exception of a few little odd brackets and bits here and there from G2 and then massive amounts of their input and support naturally.)
The motor was built by a pro, the roll-cage was built by a pro (also at G2) and the paint preparation was performed by a pro! (What? Am I supposed to start forging all of my own wheels now too, just to get respect or credit, where credit is due...?)
No corners were cut during the build and I am not about to start now. The best of everything went in to this thing - including heart and soul; I doubt that I will be engaging in some "patch" as some of these morons have suggested I would.
Like I said - Helicoil makes a tap/insert/re-thread SPECIFICALLY for this type of application, with custom plug-reach-specific measurements and heat dissipitation research to back it up and precautions and directions to follow, I'm sure. A 20K+ USD dollar engine - I'm not about to just throw anything in there. (Whatever it is, I'm sure that it would not be good enough for some of these idiots, so I'm not going to worry about it!
We'll pick this up after the holidays.

I have no worries with using helicoils and timeserts, never have and never will! You carry on JJ, just because Richard doesn't LIKE the idea... Tuff!
No car can be built without other peoples help somewhere along the way!

Ditto.
I read your threads for the 6 speed 164 and big bore Milanos, not the nitpickers and nay sayers that do nothing on the board but piss and moan. Please do not acknowledge their posts and continue to show us radical V6 projects. The pointless bickering gets in the way of the cars. God knows no one else is doing this scale of V6 Alfa work(if they are no one but JJ is sharing them). Keep up the good work JJ.

Well said! This thread is about a car being built, not some pointless argument over differing opinions!
I'll have a beer for you and your information sharing, Alfa BB devoted achievements any day JJ, especially during this holiday season!
Top form, and keep up the good work! Everyone (real car enthusiest, that is)loves to read and see the effort you and your team are putting in, and more importantly, sharing with the rest of us! Top stuff!
Always remember: Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone has one, but sometimes the noise from the other person stinks, and sometimes it doesn't..........
Happy holidays, and a torquey and detonation free new year !

Who?
The guy that doesn't know nothing about EMS calibration? (but he thinks yes only because he is electronic engineer).

Hi gents,
It's been a while since I posted anything and I don't mean to change the topic here. I just know between JJ, Jungle,Jes,Gordon and Nizam maybe I can get a quick answer. I was on another thread and lost it.
My South Carolina car is at the mechanics requiring a head gasket the old one was doubled? Anyhow I'm looking at some expensive repairs and figure it's going to hurt why not hurt a great deal finacially? This is alfa logic? By the way my wife has no Alfa logic and needs to get some soon. this is for another thread...
My question should I now install Carillo parts, JE pistons and port and polish etc...
Seems to be a good time since my engine is in pieces I don't think Jungle has an engine for me to drop in at a really good price do you jungle?
What do you guys recommend? I will take pictures once the work is done but need Alfa wisdom.
I will be using the car as a daily driver for at leat the next eight weeks then wil see.
Pardon me I didn't mean to hi jack this thread.
Another option I can't get out of my system is forged pistons lowering the compression and turbo(s).
Thanks in advance look forward to your input again my car engine just requires a gasket but hmmm good time to modify.
