Did you just ask how much this project costs, got an answer, then told him that number was way low?

The current setup does have integrated parking brakes. The new setup (under development) will likely run separate little motorbike calipers activated by the e-brake...

Nope. A 425 horsepower motor like mine is 20K USD plus a 24 valve core shipped to SA. (You can just pay the 2,500 dollar core-charge - so, about 22,500 USD for a full-race 3.45-3.7 litres, dry-sump etc...)

17,500 total buys you about 350-375 like Jes' 3.7 litre motor.

15K USD total buys you about 330-350 3.7 litre horses.

12-14K total buys you a solid 320-330 3.45-3.7 horses.

12,500 total buys you about 290-300 plus 3.2-3.45 litre horses.

(ALL 24 valve V6 naturally aspirated by the way...)

7-10K buys you an honest 270-280 NA 3.0 24 valve V6.

500-700 Twin Turbo horses runs a total of 18-25K - all-out - 24 valve V6 - likely a 3.45! Nothing ALFA (gearbox) out there will handle 3.7 litre twin turbo 24 valve torque and to my knowledge one has never been built...

All of the above big-bores include a fully-programmable stand-alone engine management system, custom intakes, custom headers, 6 individual throttle-plates for the bigger motors, forged steel chrome molly rods, forged aluminium alloy pistons, all brand new rings, bearings, guides, seals, gaskets, valves cut, porting, installation in a test-car, dyno-tuned, tested and crated with a custom wiring harness, fully balanced, lightened flywheels, converted sumps for 164/156/147 installation OR Milano/GTV6/75 installation (or in the case of our crazy Canadian buddy - a 1991-1994 Spider...!)

The smaller motors tend to be just fine with stock pistons and rods...

well the engine prices sound very reasonable for what you are getting and there is a few about now to show they work. when i say about the pounds sterling i was saying ive spent 24k sterling on my engine.
ive yet to see a 24v twin turbo, but here in the uk there is 2 12v twin turbos i know of. julian burley built the first, im sure you must know him as he uses a glenwood motors engine in his race car.

Hey Boss,

Yep, I know him however, Julian did not "build" a twin turbo - he bought a complete TT GTV6 from Glenwood that Dawie built in SA... Andrew Brown now owns that car...

Dawie has built two NA 24 valve 3.7 motors for Julian - very similar to mine - that he now runs in the red 75...

Hey Paul - cool video of your car; as a side-note here - feel free to start a new thread on the topic of your own car and do post pics - we would all love to hear (and see) more of your car in a dedicated thread about you and your car...

JJ,

Was the ex-Buscaglia 75 running a Glenwood engine? I think it was a 3.3 24V so maybe a locally built (UK) motor then? Just curious.

....don't now the ex-B car...

Any way - finally carved 4 of these heavy things out!!! So much for side-impact protection now! Well, then again - that's what the roll-cage is going to be there for...

Got the fenders off, got the front bumper off and made some progress on the chipping out! (Still hate that part of it...)

Got rid of this pile o'crapola tonight! Next, I'll remove the trunk-lid and clear the "parts-bin" for the Sin Bin ) and get the old stock tank out of there too, get the windows all out and remove the dash to get ready for seam-welding and roll-cage!

Looks like some great progress. Are you planning on new lightweight bumpers? Or just drilling out a lot like Jes?
