Bad Window Regular - Bad Dog - Bad...!

While I have the door-panel off of my RR door (after it clammed-up on me one day about two years ago), I want to also fix that window-function. Is that not fortuitous - the same bloody door!? (I a never that lucky)!

So, yeah - I understand - it's a "bad regulator", but what are we talking about here!? I have it out and the motor seems to work just fine! Is it the part that the motor is molded too - is that the gear-housing? Is that what is bad, or is it the cable-mechanism that disappears into the door towards the window that has some sort of a screw-cable mechanism in there that is slipping!?

My window rolls down just fine and will roll up by itself from about the mid-point on up. It makes that whirring stripped-gears sound trying to roll it up from the bottom to about the mid-way point though. I have to help it along and then it goes fine the rest of the way!

I tried another motor that I have here, but it does the same thing!? If it is inside the gear-housing on the motor, then that one's gear-set in that housing might just be bad too, so that doesn't tell me anything...) Gimme the gold here please!

Find a replacement motor + regulator... Clean and lube the cable well, should help longevity.

Well, again - is the regulator the cable that runs up to the glass, or is it the integrated housing on the motor!?

Can I take this one and lube it up like you were saying - and hope, or is it done for!?

Once you get clicking noise and no movement of window, the gears are stripped and my experience is that you are toast and need complete assembly: motor, plus cable with odd looking triangular wobbly thing that can be a pain to get into door... I once attempted to take a motor apart to see if gear could be replaced, but I did not get anywhere - too busy with other things (= getting race car ready).

Eventually someone will have to figure out how to fix them, or we will just have to stop putting our windows down becasue they are NLA. I got the last 2 front ones IAP had, and i doubt anyone else still has them.
