Removal of ARC Computer

Quick question,

Driving my Milano on the track this summer with the ringing sounds and flashing lights from the the ARC drove me nuts.... If I remove completly the ARC will that have an effect on the engine performance? oil psi, water temp?

Thank you for your help.

Orazio

I removed mine to no ill effect. It's easy to fix, however. I can't find the link now as I'm on my phone, but search for "The Real ARC fix" on this board.

Here's the thread on how to fix it right:

http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/mila...ng-lights.html

Alternatively you could unplug the warning light panel, but if you do that you lose your brake, parking brake, coolant level, and alternator warning lights. So it's really not a smart idea.

Removing the ARC won't make the car run any different.

However, when properly working, and runs as intended by its designers, it gives you the required key diagnostics of the car. Why wouldn't you want to know if something wasn't working?

Use the link Gubi provided above. It's really quite a simple fix.

You having ringing sounds?

I'm with the above. The ARC does provide important information on major failures, so I personally wouldn't remove it completely. Try the Gubi Fix first, if you're still having issues, then I'd suggest also hitting up Craig's website which also provides some hints on common issues that cause it to flash.
