If it has a leather interior it is (almost) definately a Platinum. There is a badge on the rear - look for a cloverleaf after the "milano" badge. 4 trim levels:
Silver = 2.5 engine "striped" model (no power seats/no abs), silver cloverleaf badge.
Gold = 2.5 engine nicer cloth interior w/ power reclining seats, no ABS, gold cloverleaf badge
Platinum = 2.5 engine, leather interior, some with CC/sunroof etc, LSD as well and ABS, platinum colored badge (looks like the silver)
Verde = 3.0 engine, recaro seats, body kit, most with sunroofs, ABS, green cloverleaf badge.
With all things alfa there is some cross breeding. Plus, over the years many owners have swaped parts, interiors etc. Heck, I put a Milano Gold interior in my alfetta sedan!
Basically, if it has a leather interior you can be 98% sure it is a platinum model.

Hey Rey, would you mind sharing the location of this car? Color? I promise not to take anything you may want..!

Do I need any special tools. Dont want to get it halfway done and have to stop. The car has wheel locks and no key again. If I take a sawzall, can I cut the mounts away off the car to drop it faster? Ita a shame because that car loooks so much better then mine.

Better grab what you can. There was a complete gold in my area that just sat..I pulled off like a fuel pump bracket for another member on this forum...and then they crushed the whole car!
Honestly, it's a pain. And probably not safe without another person there. It's REALLY heavy. But, if you are just yanking stuff out with reckless abandon, I think you can get it out fairly quickly. Just bring a crow-bar and forget junkyard etiquette.

Weird. We had an 88 Milano Gold, as I recall we were the second owner. It had an automatic, cruise control, sun roof, cloth interior, and I simply do not recall it having power seats.
This being Alfa, I'm not SURPRISED I ended up with one different from what anyone else knows about. I'm just throwing it out there for a data point.

Yea, I will have to take to my friend and see when he could go with me to get it. If you still have your parts car there are actually a couple more things off of it that i could use. I will call you sometime this week though,

Well, this morning I received a call from Ray and ran to the junk yard to check on the Milano, I believe that would be safe to assume that the engine jumped a few teeth on the timing belt because there is not any other sign of damage on this car.
The interior was so-so (a little trashed but it's a 20+ year old car) but the sad part was that the body (even the paint) were in great shape.
I went just with the intention to check it out (for curiosity) but ended up removing the trunk red reflector that was complete with both ends and also found the auxiliary air valve on the trunk that looked ok.
Also noticed that someone had removed the thermostat housing that still had the temp, thermo time and coolant sensors installed. I wonder why someone went through all this trouble only to get a used thermostat...(?)

Ok, so this is me, on the east coast where there aren't any Milanos AT ALL sending hate rays to you on the west coast, where (it seems) Milanos with intact trim and zero rust are so thick on the ground you literally stumble across them.
Meh. Six weeks from now an earthquake gonna shake you all into the Pacific. I guess it evens out in the end.

Thermostat is NLA as far as i know, and I think they cost close to $100 when you could get them. Is someone going to pull the tranny? If its still the LSD one, they are worth $$$. Its not that hard to do, when i did it in the junkyard I just dropped in onto the ground after i had everything unhooked. If anyone else goes back and looks at it, if the clips for the sunvisors are still good can you get them for me? I would pay $10 shipped for 2 good ones.
