Nonsense? I want performance but looks are also important. Adjust to max on the tire pressure? What would you consider max?

Publio

By the way just got back from a long trip in the car and I discovered some things I need to do ASAP. Left front brake makes some loud noises after some use and whines sometimes. Something makes a noise in the back sometimes when I start it, and there are many squeaks and noises at 80+ MPH. By the way if the spacers you mentioned for the rear are wrong...what is right?

A rumbling, whooshing noise that happens for about 5 seconds after starting when the car is fully warmed up and has been sitting for a bit?

If so, don't worry about it - it's just the vapor in the fuel return line dumping back into the tank.

Publio,
I spoke with Joe (Group2), and he did see your email. I think he confirmed that the Evo kits can be ordered. I would suggest that you call him if you are seriously considering it. I would guess that there is a bit of time from order to arrival.

All the V6 cars use the same basic wire loom and all the Verde's came with a heated driver's seat. All Platinum's came with both front seats heated along with heated outside rearview mirrors. What you have is a car who's worn-out driver's seat has been replaced with a good but unheated passenger's. All Platinum's and Verde's came with an additional wire loom dedicated to the ABS.

Ahhh, so the heating element is probably not in the seat? Is there any way to tell if it is a passenger seat converted? I did notice on cut wire on the right side of the passenger seat. Could they have just switched the seats? The passenger seat should not have the seat belt wire on the right side correct?

The Verdes did not have the heated mirrors?

Nonsense?
Yes nonsense. Not to drag this out but wheel spacers will not change your ET (offset). A wheel w/40mm ET can be sticking out 12" from the body and it will still have A 40mm ET. By just looking, those speedlines have at least about 2" of space to the lip of your wheel well. which makes them look skinny. I'm suggesting moving them outboard ~1-1/2". You will not notice a performance difference in your daily driving.

Well, so far all you've talked about are looks Publio. Your car is already beautiful and you want a bodykit, you're wheels are just fine and you want SZ18's. I've suggested a few low dollar adjustments that'll really make an impact on the looks. They really will. Save that cash-ola for the performance department and all those small improvements and break-fixes that are on the horizon.

BTW - I didn't say go to max, I said inflate closer to max (assuming you've got 32-36lbs in there already). This will stiffen the sidewalls. Max pressure is stated on sidewall. My HTR-Z's say 44lbs max inflation. But they are 225/45-16.

If I recall, the Verde had electric mirrors (but not heated), the extra plug under there is for models with electric recline.

Ok, the nonsense comment threw me for a loop. Yes, I want her to look good but still perform. She is an Italian. I agree with how skinny the Speedlines look. So are the original spacer sizes correct in your previous post?

As far as the beuaty of the car she is going into the body shop today for some body work. I am nervous. My wife and I looked at the wheels you suggested and we are thinking of maybe going that direction. Luckily I am not in a rush.

I was hoping the verde had heated mirrors...I like the bells and whistles more and more in my older age. I'll bump up the pressure and see if I get a change.

Does she know what 2115 Euro + VAT & shipping is in US $$'s?

You know, since you like that style of wheel. You can cut the cost in half if you find a set of '95 164 LS Q4 rims. They look like the optional OZ rims that used to be available for the Milano except in 16". Essentially the same styling of the SZ18.

I have seen those rims but i like the idea of mitigating the narrower rear track by having wider wheels out back. yeah, that price is pretty high...I like them but it kinda made my skin crawl. I wish the stock rims were 16's. To be honest i love the look of the speedlines and the BWAs but as 15's they enhance the aged look. Next to my crossfirre the car looks like a toy.

Get rid of the Crossfire!

It's always gonna have penis envy next to that thing. The wheels on the Crossfire are just silly @18/19" - IMO another car that looks like it should have much more power than it does. Extremely cool styling exercise, but not very practical. I remember looking at it & couldn't figure out how to get the golf clubs in it. That's an ixnay in my book.

Oh, the 164 QV rims look like this:

Size: 14.6 KB
With any luck you might be able to find them at wheelright or one of those wheel reconditioning places (or maybe on this board - as rest assured, most likely some 164 QV owner wasn't happy w/16's & wanted 18's). I don't know what the offset is, but again, can be tweaked with the appropriate spacer.

Is this thread about wiring or wheel offset?

Publio,

I would recommend Team Dynamics Pro Race wheels in 15 X 7. They're light, have a nice offset, looks good on the Milano and are reasonably priced. If you want 16" maybe you should think about the Enkei RPF1.

Toonrboy,

I think Potenziato was saying that if you put spacers, effectively it's like having wheels with less offset (less EinpressTiefe). Of course the value on the wheels itself doesn't change.

75EVO,

Those look nice also. However, the bolt pattern is 5X114.3. ARe you seeing them from a specific vendor where they are 5X98?
