My 1988 Verde. Was it worth $500?
I've wanted one for years now and this came up locally.

I'd say you got a steal. What the heck is that where the clock used to be, next to the Alfa Romeo Control lights?

Is the passenger side rear quarter panel straight? Was it hit from the back? Still, $500 sounds like a steal.

Bad purchase - once you become addicted, that car will drain you of every last dollar you have in repairs, upgrades, repairs, repairs, repairs...
Kidding though, that's a great buy. My verde was $500 and it looked a LOT worse.

I've bought worse than that. And for more money too. Nice find. Enjoy it.

It is a great looking car. I used to have one and I sold it 11 years ago and I still miss that car. It is the most fun car that I have ever owned. Good luck with it.

people say "buy the best milano you can find"

I'm one of those that subscribe to that line of thinking, but that's because I've been around the block a couple of times with these cars as daily drivers & want to avoid aggravation as much as possible.
You look to have lucked out on this one! She looks pretty straight despite having her azz tapped
The key here is what you can do yourself. For instance, the clutch job is going to put you in the ~$1500 area. Wait till you peel back the onion, you'll find more that needs tending to - believe me. Before you know it you'll have a very presentable Verde for around 5K. But you'll have to get it sorted out. You'll have plenty of time to fix her up as you submit paperwork & wait for the government to cough-up a new title.
It's your perogative, but why take such a nice example and abuse it driving around cones? One, they don't do it all that well, and two, she would probably make a pretty good daily driver car. For autocross, I'd rather have an MGB or something - but that's just me.

I have it on pretty good authority that Milano's make fine autocrossers. There's a white one in Loonyville, Kentucky that won the 2003 "E Prepared" class in the local SCCA autocross and I know for a fact it wasn't all down to driver talent. And no, it wasn't the only car in it's class....there were about a dozen different makes.
Zombie, you got a stone cold deal.....you stole it. Now drive it like you stole it. Job well done.
Cheers, Rick.

I think it's money well spent, what's another $3000 grand in the scheme of things if need be? Drive it, cross it, have fun.

I must disagree ...
Respectfully, I think this is a terrible purchase and you don't need the pending hassle. I would be glad to, however, relieve you of this burden should you come to your senses...
Just kidding!!! Welcome to the family - 112K on the clock and $500 seem as close to free as possible. Good luck.

Well, there's always somebody...
Ya' know, "prepared" class allows practically any and every mod! Save for wings and forced induction (unless factory installed - and then restrictor plates are required) Ask the owner of that white Milano what he'$ got into it, to make it competitive. You think zombie is going to drop that kind of money into the vehicle you're looking at when he's on the board asking if his $500.00 is well spent? Lastly, take a look at the SCCA records for Solo II champs and you won't see one Alfa in any class going all the way back to 1980!
I, on the other hand would love to see more Milano's in Club racing events like Showroom Stock or Improved Touring. But that's just me. Obviously, Autocross, and Timetrial racing (Solo) is alive and well for a reason.
I would say that zombie could drop say, $2500 on that car and turn around and sell it for $5500.00 easily - providing there are no big surprises we don't know about.
