Sorry to be hard to reach. We've just moved to St. Louis Park and the world is still a bit unsettled. Yes, get a set of cam cover washers, 6 fiber, 2 aluminum. I am not sure if anyone has shims in town except for me or maybe Ed. In your shoes, I'd call a few places like the guys out in Mound/Spring Park and see. Checking clearances is pretty easy so your guy can check quickly and then you can shop for specific sizes. If you're really in a pinch, you can borrow my sets. I'd not be surprised if your clearances are just fine as is.
No trips planned due to move and other busy schedule stuff.

I'm having my mechanic (Tim Moore, Dynotech) check the valve train on my
Duetto. I don't have any documentation about when the valves were last
adjusted by the previous owner, so I thought they should be checked/adjusted
before taking the Duetto on a long tour. I have a few questions that you
may be able to answer.

Besides the valve cover gasket and cam cover half moon rubber plugs, are
there other parts that I should order from IAP (if I order today, they'll
arrive by Thursday)? What about cam cover washers (fiber and/or aluminum)?

I understand valve clearances need to be checked before knowing what shims
may or may not be needed. Do you know if there's a local source for the
proper shims (Alfa or Ferrari)?

Thanks in advance for your input. I'm going to drive the Alfa to Lexington,
KY next month for the AROC convention. Are you planning on the
same?
