    Hi Steve,
I finally registered (and I subscribed and donated, too). I also finally registered on the Alfa164 digest as well (I'm ALFA_TAG over there). In my visits to the AlfaBB (as well as it’s predecessor - - the Alfa164 digest) over all these years, I found that each and every time I visited I learned exactly what I was after and/or simply enjoyed perusing the posts. I should be ashamed for having had all those years of help and fun as an unregistered guest. I'm catching up now with doing my part now to contribute to a most valuable asset to us Alfa nuts. See ya sometime.

    Steve,
Thanks for you suggestions concerning rough starting 91 164l. I found a broken wire on the temperature sensor and spliced in a new socket and it started with the first turn of the key. I have been working on this car for 2 years. Now that I know it will run, I need to replace the timing belt, waterpump, and tensioner. I have read the routines and saw your jig. Could you scan that jig and save it as a pdf file. I could then print if off, glue it to a strudy back, and use it. It might be helpful for others as well.
Thanks again for all your suggestions in the past. For an update, my car had sat for 7 years in a garage. The timing belt was replaced 4000 miles ago, but I don't want to take a chance. My other fixes include dropping the gas tank and getting it cleaned and coated. Installing 2 different fuel pumps. Cleaning the injectors and splicing new injector connections. Replacing all fuel lines. Flushing radiator and replacing all hoses. Replacing rear calipers, brake lines, rotors, and pads. Replacing the slave clutch cylinder and flushing the brake fluid. Flushing out the power steering fluid. Replacing stereo speakers. I think that's about it so far. Hopefully 1 more weekend. Chat at you later.
