Hello Martinue: I was hoping you could help me. You posted something back in 2005 that I have pasted below. I am curious what you might know about Kurt Zeller. I understand he died in 1957, is that correct? He raced cars. Do you know how he died? Was it racing? I believe my Father owns a 1954 Mercedes 300SL that Kurt originally owned. This car was purchased in Germany in 1957 or 1958 and then shipped to the USA. I see that you spoke about an Alfa that was his being sold in Auto Motor und Sport because of the death of the owner. Was Kurt the owner of that Alpha? Were there other cars in Auto Motor und Sport for sale by "A. Zeller"at this time? possibly at Mercedes 300SL? I am trying to find the location where my Father might have purchased the car. Thank you in advance.

In Auto, Motor und Sport 19/1957, A. Zeller, from Hammerau, Oberbayern, had a SVA for sale, in as new condition, with 17500 kms and 2 sports seats, because of the death of the owner.

    Hello Martinue,

We spoke some years ago about the GTAm's raced in South Africa. I have co- operated/sold items to Patrick Dasse and have your new version of ALLEGERITTA. I am told by Olaf Rooten that you have done further research on these cars.

What subsequent information do you have on the GTAm raced by Chatz and van Rooyen? I have photographs of these cars at the 9 hour at Kyalami.

I also met Sampie Bosman who prepared many of the factory racing machines. He did remember the cars but did not have very specific information.

When we lived in South Africa I also spoke to Giovanni Piazza Musso who did a fair amount of rally racing (?) for Alfa Romeo South Africa however again very little specific information.

I also had discussions with Arnold Chatz when we lived in South Africa and all he could remember was that they were fantastic cars to drive - no specifics about models etc.

    Dear Martinnu,

I came across a rally plate that was on SVZ 02158 (documented!) when Jacques Rey raced it. Do you have any pictures of the car (or know where I can find them - I think I found some online) or do you know who owns it? Let me know if you are interested in seeing my sources as well. My email is LADIRK@GMX.NET
    Thx,
    Dirk
