found a 2600 in NC

I went out to see my parents today roughly an hour west of Charlotte and stopped by a friend of my Dad's to see a car he thought I may have an interest in. Turns out he has an Alfa Romeo 2600. Honestly I have been into VW's (mostly Karmann Ghias) since the late 80's and I know nothing really about Alfas. I found this board by searching and thought it would be a good place to ask some input on this car. It looks to be complete and is up on blocks to keep it off the ground. The wire wheels were in his shop. Has some through rust in places (trunk), but not bad in others. At some point during a bad storm a large tree limb did some damage to the roof and also took out the pass side door glass and cracked the windshield. It still has the 6 cyl in it, though the tag in the trunk expired in 82. I was loosing sunlight so I had to hurry, but here are the pictures I took. He gave no price but I'm sure the price would be right. He just wants to see it go to a good home, either to be restored or to help other cars out. Any info is appreciated.

Only if ...

... it was stored indoors or under the shed it is next to. I would have to agree with Osso!!

Good luck.

It sold. Going to help out other cars in need. I appreciate the input.

Restore that 2600?

Figure 3-5 years and $150,000 for the restoration. Then you'll have a marvelous vintage GT that will be give you countless hours of pleasure; possibly win some trophies and be worth at least $25,000, maybe even $30,000 anytime you want to sell it.

Been there - done that!
